What do you do when you have big boobs but all dresses you find are low back or backless.

Jessica, on August 16, 2020 at 6:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30
Hey ladies, I have no idea what to do about all of these low back dresses. Obviously you can't wear a normal bra with it. I am a 40DDD. How does one keep their boobs at bay in a near backless dress. What do you do? I don't know if I feel comfortable letting em just hang out without any support. Anyone have a suggestions?

I have a large chest (34G), so I didn't bother even trying on any dresses with low backs. My dress was strapless, but had a built in corset that gave me the support I needed and had a normal height back so I could wear a strapless bra if I wanted to.

I have the thinnest cups sewn, and my strapless dress was altered to fit tight but not too tight. I use the dress on my profile picture. Before alteration it keeps revealing my girls and it won’t stay put.

Getting a dress with a built in corset (like with boning, not just one that ties up the back so it looks like a corset) is a good start. You can also have your seamstress add cups/more support to most dresses. Gravity is real, so getting a dress with straps or having straps added can help, but you don't want to rely on them too much. Taping the dress to your skin will help prevent "wardrobe malfunctions," but it won't provide any support. You can tape your actual boobs to wrangle them in place of a bra, but that only really works if you have a high neckline or very thick straps to hide the tape.

100% hahaha 34 F/G here. I fell in love with a low back dress but the reality of the breasts and being comfortable sunk in quickly. There are no great options for full support in a low back dress. Corset style for me and extra cups being put in 😂

I would look into having cups sewn into your dress. My sister-in-law's dress had a see-through back and she wore a pink bra and it looked terrible so you definitely want to make sure you pick something that will support you, but won't be visible.

You need to ask the salon and if they don't know, then you're in the wrong place. Options:

Corset under the dress (buy a real corset that has boning in it)

Change the dress to a corset back with cups in the front

Cups in the front and you can get silicone pasties that lift them up from Victoria's Secret

You could try “Bring It Up” and see it works for you. It’s not too expensive on Amazon. You’ll want to use some kind of adhesive “petals” (pasties) with it. Good luck!

I have a backless dress and ran into same problem with finding a bra, ended up getting some realllly good shapewear and a strapless bra that kinda tapes on so it doesnt show in the back.

I can't afford to pay $1500 for a dress though. So yea. Theres not many affordable places by me. So I'm limited a tad.

Fellow large chested 30H here (yes, I'm a H cup!) The quick answer as to how to wear a backless dress with really big boobs--and it might not be the answer you're looking for--is that you simply can't. With a chest that large, there was no way even sewn in cups would have worked in a backless dress for me. That's why I only tried on styles that accommodated a supportive custom built in bra. Simply adding in cups would not have worked--I needed something way more supportive with boning and thick elastic in the bodice. Luckily, there were plenty of bridal salons that had tons of dresses to show me with the 'back' coverage I needed to support my chest. I ended up going with a strapless dress and felt incredibly supported.

I don’t know what the fronts of these dresses look like, but look into Brassy Bra! They are sweat/waterproof so you can wear them ALLLLLL day and the girls are supported!

Honestly, I’d look for a dress with boning or good support for the girls. Low backs or illusion tops aren’t generally good for busty brides.
