What do you consider a big wedding?

I think this varies not only from place to place but person to person. In my family a small wedding is considered

Small 0-75 people

Medium 75-130 people

Large 130-200 people

Excessively large - anything over 200.

We hit in right around 130 people. Are there people we wish we could include but ultimately had to leave off the list? Of course. We love and know a lot of people but this is something where you cannot include everyone and we needed to make cuts.

Agreed, I think over 100 is big already. We're at 125 and I'm like holy cow, we're having a huge wedding!

Over 100.

100 people or more is typically pretty big, i mean, thats a lot of people...

however, i feel your pain. i wanted a smaller wedding and my FH and I just have too much family on both sides to do anything smaller than our current 120ish guests.

We are at 300 invited and like @munchkin stated it is excessively large. To me a small wedding is under 30 people. Anything under 100 is medium sized and over that its a big wedding

I don't even know 500 people lol .. but we are at 80 and I think it's a small wedding for me under 100 is small 100 to 150 is med and anything above that is big

Wow 500!! That's HUGE! I'd say anything over 100 is pretty decent sized. I think this is relative to location though. I went to a wedding with 80 people but it felt big because the venue was small. And I've been to a wedding with over 200 people and it didn't feel too large because the venue was huge. We're going to invite around 150 people and I wanted a WAY smaller wedding but with both of our families it wasn't possible. Anything over 200 is a lot of mouths to feed...

To me over 100 is big

We had 100 people and I thought that was huge.

We're having about 80 people and I feel like that's about a medium wedding. I think 100 or over is definitely a big wedding.

To me anything over 200 is big, we have 212 currently on our guest list and every time I think about the number I get a little freaked out.

FH and I joke all the time that we're having a small Greek wedding- we invited 240 and have about 180 attending. To out this in perspective, the average wedding in his family is around 500 people.

I'd say that's a huge wedding but, I might be skewed since mine is 20 people.

For me:

Small- 0-30

Medium- 30-75

Large- 75-150

Huge-over 150

I would say more than 100 is condidered a big wedding..

In my family, 250-300 is big, but most of my friend's weddings have been under 100. Our guest list is about 260 right now, but will be closer to 200 when invites are sent out. Just gotta cut a few distant relatives out!

To me, anything over 150 is big. I'm hoping to have under 100 attendees, which in my family is a small wedding ETA: my parents had 300 people at their wedding. I can't even imagine...

I think anything over 150 -175 is a big wedding. Where I am from (Brooklyn/Long Island), 150 is the minimum that needs to be met at most venues for a Saturday night wedding. Some venues wanted 200, some more!!! We are at 195 on our guest list.

Small: Less than 50

Medium: 50-125

Large: 125-175

Very large/ I have never attended: Anything over that number
