What did you get your bridesmaids?

MrsO2017, on May 28, 2017 at 3:34 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

I CANNOT WAIT TO GIVE MY BMs THEIR GIFTS!!!!! I made minor changes to each girls gift since it's my best friend, stepsister and ten year old little sister. I got them each a cute headband with cat ears that you wear to put on makeup/wash your face, a dozen Lindt truffles, a cute face mask treatment that makes you look like an animal when you put it on, a LUSH item (massage bars for the older two, and a bar of their "fun" soap playdoh for the little one), a cute hair tie on a label that says "thanks for helping me tie the knot," and an alex and ani bracelet.

What did you guys get for your girls? Also, when is it most appropriate to give them their gifts? I was thinking the rehearsal but with parents, siblings, bridal party and their SOs and kids, there will be almost 30 people there and I don't want to make a big deal about it because they're all kind of bashful. Also don't want little kids getting upset because presents are being passed around and they don't get any lol.

I think if you're all getting ready together, that would be a good time to give the gifts. That way it's just you guys there and you don't have to worry about all the people that would be there if you gave them at the rehearsal dinner.

Wow nice gifts! I would give them the gifts when your getting ready or you can make it a separate event and give them at a lunch or something.

I'm making my girls little boxes. They are each getting a necklace, nail polish, face mask, a sweet handwritten letter, a mini bottle of champagne and probably some sweets of some kind. Each box is personalized to fit each of my girls. I'll probably give it to them the morning of the wedding

I will purchase each of them a different gift according to their interests, just as if I were shopping for their birthday.

I have been on the receiving end of BM gifts many times, so I know they don't want to get anything that is for my wedding, or a bag of items.

I got my Teal Yeti tumblers with decal that has their name & initial, cinderollies to wear on the dance floor, & seaglass ornament in the shape of Virginia with a heart of sand where Virginia Beach is. All my bridesmaids are from college so the ornament represents where we started our friendship. I'm 33 and the last of my friends to get married. I wanted to give my girls a practical gift. I also got 2 ornaments of North Carolina with heart of sand at Corolla (where we are getting married) to give to my mom and FMIL to represent where our families joined together.

Here's the ornament except it's NJ. I have a New Jersey one in dark blue because I'm from NJ.

@Spiff, it's a local shop back home in NJ. You can get any state you want. They have a TON of cute ornaments, jewelry, etc.

@Lauren M, I almost got mine personalized tumblers but my mom begged me not to get my little sister. I know I should shop for each individually, but i thin they'll all like this stuff and i thought if i got them the same stuff it would make my little sister feel less like a kid and more like one of the girls lol

@MrsO2017, we tested out the tumblers & they really do keep drinks cold for a LONG time. Since we rented a 18 person beach house for the entire bridal party for the week, the tumblers will keep our adult beverages nice and cold on the beach. Lol I think you're sound perfect and they'll love them!

I haven't thought of what to get them the day of but this is my bridesmaid ask gift; custom sugar cookies, BM pins, planner, notebook and a Tiffany & Co. Horseshoe pendant.

We are giving everyone their gifts at the rehearsal dinner. I got all my girls a clutch, chocolate, a face mask, a handkerchief that FMIL embroidered for them and a jewelry item specifically chosen for them. My favorite one is for my oldest sister who dreams of living in Alaska. I found a jeweler that creates jewelry with river rocks right out of her backyard in Alaska. It's so pretty!

I got mine Vera Bradley totes and matching wallets, monogrammed wine glasses and a bottle of wine. I'm also doing jewelry but with hopes they will wear it for the ceremony (I won't make them) i consider it more of a prop.
