What did you cover - Wedding party edition!

Cassi, on June 21, 2019 at 3:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 52

Hey Guys I see a lot of posts about wedding party etiquette's. What did you cover for your wedding party whether it was groomsmen or bridesmaids? why/how did you make your decision?

Personally My FH and I decided because it was a destination wedding we would cover lodging expenses for the wedding party and their plus ones because we were asking them to take time off work to travel a few states away and be apart of our day. We were originally going to cover their wedding attire but figured the lodging would be a more appreciated gesture (especially since we have some new parents in our wedding so finances would be tight). We got a 9 bedroom so one we could all be in the same place so theres no confusion on timelines and what not and so each person in the party could have their own room.

This is the cabin we rentedWhat did you cover - Wedding party edition! 1

Ugh that cabin is beautiful! It's very kind of you to take care of their lodging. We are paying for our bridesmaids hair. We also rented a house on our venue's property and anyone who wants to stay the night of the wedding, can. It's not a DW, but some of our attendants live an hour to an hour and a half away.

For the groomsmen we covered a portion of their outfits.
I didn't really cover anything for my bridesmaids but I always always offered to.

WOW! I wish someone did that for me when I was a bridesmaid, haha. Smiley laugh

Unfortunately, we won't be covering too many costs. Aside from gifts, I booked the hotel room for the night of my bachelorette party. For hair and make up, we'll be pooling all of our resources to DIY our styles together the day of the wedding.

We just have so many people willing to chip in already. My parents covered the deposit on the venue, my mom booked my shower venue, and FFIL is covering rehearsal dinner. The MOH and BM have done us both to not worry about anything in regards to bachelor/bachelorette parties.

Hi! So far we put $50 towards each groomsmen suites. We have seven total. A lot of our guys are coming from out of state so we though it would be a nice gesture. As far as bridesmaids, I haven’t decided on maybe a manicure or hair or makeup. I’ve been in wedding where they made hair and makeup optional but we had to cover the cost. And one wedding where the bride gave us a gift card towards a manicure. So something would be nice

We do not have a bridal party but do have family coming in front out of town so we also rented a cabin for the wedding weekend so that they wouldn't have to worry about lodging expenses and so that we could spend some extra time with them.

We are doing gifts and covering the cost of makeup for bridesmaids. We are also providing free accommodations the night before if they want (bridesmaids at my parents house with me, groomsmen at FH and mines house with FH). We are also providing all meals on wedding day!

We are also paying for lodging for both sides (groomsmen and bridesmaids), renting two Airbnbs, we have cooks providing breakfast and lunch, I am treating my bridesmaids to manis and pedis the day before and I’m putting $50 towards their makeup.

We have purchased all attire for wedding party, lodging for 3 nights and we're getting them all gifts. We are having a DW in Hawaii so taking as much pressure off as we can. Most are adding days and using time as a vacay as are most of my guest. They only had to cover flight.

Wow! Beautiful cabin and I love your idea! We are covering our bridesmaids and Mothers hair and makeup, getting them each a wrap to match their dresses and probably a monogrammed oversized button up for getting ready (which can be used as a sleep shirt later).

My fiance and I are doing separate things for our parties, so I'm not sure what hes doing for his guys. I dont think he knows yet either lol for my girls, I got us all a house for the night before (the main area is shown in the pictures). Its huge and I love it 😍 I am also paying for their hair and make up and went wayyyyy too overboard on etsy gifts lol

It was important to us for all our friends to be at this day (our only friends at the wedding are in the wedding party) and we didn't want expenses to get in the way of that.

Hey some people don't like taking help. Are you doing bridal party gifts or anything? I made my girls robes for getting ready and obviously they received their bridesmaids proposals and cute things here and there that I've found.

That was pretty much our thought process. It guaranteed to us the people we care most about are able to share in our day and we got to have time with them!
