Hey Guys I see a lot of posts about wedding party etiquette's. What did you cover for your wedding party whether it was groomsmen or bridesmaids? why/how did you make your decision?

Personally My FH and I decided because it was a destination wedding we would cover lodging expenses for the wedding party and their plus ones because we were asking them to take time off work to travel a few states away and be apart of our day. We were originally going to cover their wedding attire but figured the lodging would be a more appreciated gesture (especially since we have some new parents in our wedding so finances would be tight). We got a 9 bedroom so one we could all be in the same place so theres no confusion on timelines and what not and so each person in the party could have their own room.

This is the cabin we rentedcfb_1224315.jpg

Thanks. All of my girls are in different financial states right now (single mom, married w/kids, living in their own), so l didn’t want to much too much of a burden on them. The only thing I’ve asked for so far is a dress in a particular color. If they had shoes and accessories to go with it, I was fine with whatever they chose.

I just remember having to spend $1000 for a destination wedding (airfare, hotel, travel expenses, attire, gift, etc) and all I got was a dry piece of cake and a mug. 😭

I love that cabin! Where are you getting married?

We are covering bridesmaids attire except for their shoes, paying for makeup, and half of their hair if they want to get it done, and we are paying for lodging and transportation for 2 days for all the Bridal party. Also, they all get plus ones invited to rehearsal and wedding.

    Thanks! Gatlinburg TN.

Thats sweet of you. Yeah we rented it from Thursday the 10th through Wednesday the 16th (our wedding is on the 13th). We also did our gifts for each one but hair and makeup and dresses I left completely to the girls I only ask that the dress color is Navy they all picked their own styles and accessories! I wanted them to be comfortable in their dresses. We covered transportation day of the wedding too and from the venue for everyone as well as a thank you so people could enjoy the open bar!

We’re doing the same, destination wedding so we choose a large lodge to rent at the base of the mountain - I’m covering my girls for free the night before the wedding and for the night of and the night after we offered a split of whatever they could afford and if they can’t we will cover, it’s a 4 bedroom that sleeps 12 (I got a great deal so it wasn’t a bad expense). I also put together a small gift for everyone in the wedding party and if the girls want spray tanning $25 toward that (which is half the cost of it) plus morning of snacks and libations. I opted not to cover HMU or dresses because I’m giving them the option to do what they want. If they want to use my HMU artists I’ll cover the fees and tips.

Thats awesome! Yeah we got a good deal in the sense that it could have cost us A LOT more for the week but we were returning customers (this is where we stay every year) so we got 15% off and an extra free night so that was great but still cost us $5700 for the 10th-16th but totally worth it. Ours is 9 bedrooms and sleeps 28 I believe. yours looks beautiful!

Beautiful cabin. I am paying for the bridal party's dresses. We are paying for the flower girls' dresses and the suits for the ring bearers.

That is exactly what I did for my bridesmaids and groomsmen. I’m having a DW and am paying for their entire week stay (food, drinks, lodging). My bridesmaids in my villa, groomsmen in the grooms villa. They had to pay for their flight though.

I paid for their hair & makeup, bridesmaid robes, gift bags for the day of, etc. they’re paying their own hotel expenses if they choose to stay in one, their dress, etc.

We are covering hair & makeup for bridesmaids that want it (one opted to do her own makeup, everyone is choosing how they want theirs), breakfast/lunch the day of for the bridesmaids, lunch the day of for the groomsmen, transportation to and from the venue, we both contributed to our bach parties, my mom paid for my full bridal shower so that wasn't on the bridesmaids, we gave proposal gifts & bach favors & day of gifts, rehearsal dinner obviously, and let them pick their own shoes/jewelry.

I'm sure the bridesmaids are super thankful for that hair and makeup is stressful if you can't afford it and aren't good at doing it yourself.

My parents/I are paying for their dress and hotel room the night before and night of. Our hotel has suits that could easily accommodate all 5 of us, but they don't have to stay there. If they choose to sleep elsewhere, then that's on them.

You're welcome. Yes, the dresses are going to be the same. Flower girl dresses will look like bridesmaid dresses. First one is bridesmaids the second is flower girls.
