My FS is in the Air Force but we decided NOT to incorporate that... You don't HAVE to have him in his dress blues... if you want the colors your picked then continue with that... However, if you do want him to wear them... I would probably have my girls wear navy or black... just my opinion Smiley smile

Well i didnt want to have him wear it, but everyone keeps telling me that it would be better if we did because it will show that he is a member of the marines and he is proud.

i know he is but its so much to already do.

It really doesnt matter what 'everyone' says... it's ultimately up to you and FS... us not using the AF uniform has nothing to do with not being proud! We love being a military family and are getting married a month after he gets back from overseas... just personal preference I guess Smiley winking

What does he want to do? I am leaving it up to my FH, he is AF as well. I don't think he cares much but everyone kind of pressured him into it. Either way it is you and your FH's day. Do what you want

My BFF's DS is a marine, and he wore his dress blues in their wedding. Their colors were DB cornflower and silver. I think any shade of blue would go well, but you could use just about anything that you want. What were the colors you were originally thinking?

I don't know how long your FS has ben in the Marines or what his job is but not everyone gets dress bules first in or at least when I was in. So you should check and see if he'll be wearing dress blues or his class A's. If he's wearing dress blues then I would think red would be nice.

I think if he plans on being a lifer in the Marines, it's a great idea. But if he just plans on serving for a few years, it may be strange to look back at photos. Don't worry what others want. It only matters what you (and sometimes the groom) want.

I am prior active duty in The Navy and I would have hated to have to wear my uniform or have a military color wedding. Sure I was, and still am, proud, but honestly you wear it EVERY day. Even if it's the dress uniform instead of working, it's still a uniform. I say forget everyone else and do whatever you and FS want. If you both decide to have him wear a uniform do whatever colors you want.

I think of it this way. I am a dental hygienist. Would people expect me to have a tooth bouquet and BM wear Listerine gold dresses? It's a career, not a theme for a wedding.

Tradionally Marine colors are Red and Gold - but you don't have to use any colors other than the ones you've already picked out - unless you want to.
