What are you wearing under your dress?

Leslie, on June 17, 2019 at 11:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 26

Now that I have my wedding gown it's time for me to look more at accessories and undergarments. I definitely need something backless but I've never worn anything along those lines in the past.

Anyone want to share what shapewear or underwear they chose for their big day? I'm definitely needing some inspiration and recommendations on this front. If you have any particular lingerie chosen for your wedding (or for after) I'd love to hear ideas for that too!

I asked my sister this question. I said "what kind of undies should I wear" and her reply was "ANYTHING THAT IS COMFY" she said not to wear anything where you will constantly be getting wedgies. So I have thought about this and I am going to wear "granny panties"- AKA comfy panties. And I will have a more "sexier" outfit to change into at the hotel.

I had cups sewn into my dress and wore “comfy underwear” so that I didn’t have to worry about that all night and then changed afterward. Be comfortable!!

This is what I wore, and it held up GREAT. Probably depends on your bra size though. I'm relatively small-chested (B cup) so it worked really well for me, but not sure if it would work as well for someone who needed more support.

It says currently unavailable on Amazon now, but you could look for something similar!

My dress has an open back and a deep V cut up front so I am having bra cups sewn in. Since my dress is more of an A-line I will wear comfy underwear!

My dress already has cups so I’m not wearing anything else on top and just a pretty pair of (comfortable) white and nude lace panties. I was hoping I wouldn’t need Spanx and fortunately I don’t. I recommend wearing as little as possible do you can be as comfortable as possible!

I got the corset bra on Walmart.com, and the slip at David's Bridal when I bought my dress

My dress already had a built in bra and built in corset, so I’m leaning towards just wearing some pretty ivory panties. However, still teetering on adding strapless Spanx, just not sure if it will make a difference since my dress already has a corset.

My dress had cups sewn in, so no bra needed. It was very fitted, so no shapewear either. The dress itself held everything in place. The only thing I wore were some nude, seamless VS cheeky underwear - no wedgies, no ride up, no seams, super comfortable!

I'd definitely make sure to try it out another day beforehand to make sure it actually is going to stick well... I wore mine for our engagement photos as basically a test run, and it was obvious it wasn't going ANYWHERE lol,

A test run is definitely on the list once I get something ordered! I'm a little nervous about it since I've never worn anything stick on, so I'll for sure want to make sure it works well before I'm willing to trust it.

I tried on every version of Spanx offered at three department stores lol!

My dress is a beaded sheath with thin straps. What worked best for me was Maidenform highwaisted thigh slimmer at Target for $25. I purchased a silicone strapless bra for $17 on Amazon.

I ordered a bustier online and since my dress is so many layers, I can wear whatever other undergarments I want. I always say to wear whatever is going to be comfiest, as long as nobody can see it through the dress.

A lot of it depends on your dress. I personally chose mine so I could wear a bra and any other undergarments I may want. For most dresses, strapless bra and white panties are required.

I got lucky and found comfy lingerie. light pink (near flesh color for me) Bra & panties set purchased online that has decent coverage with garter belt to hold up my thigh highs (can not stand the ones that come up to the waist). I wore them over fathers day (under regular clothes, obviously!) with FH's family just to be sure they'd be comfortable to wear all day. Seriously, if i can crawl around on the floor with the soon to be nieces and nephew (all toddlers) in them and be comfortable, i'll be fine for the wedding. I'll also have a shaper (top only... I didnt want one that went over the crotch as I want to be able to go to the bathroom) and a crinoline skirt.

I chose my dress specifically because I could wear my favorite bra under it.
I'm also 31 and a 40something DD. Too old and too many boobies to be uncomfortable.
I5m wearing regular underwear and some sort of shapewear.
Being the center of attention is almost too much for me, so I want to make sure I am comfortable and confident.
