I have no idea LOL my venue actually didn’t tell me what the plan for vegetarians was other than they get to pick an entree off a menu. So that means my vegetarian guests were able to order stuff I don’t know what it tasted like

I’m vegan and chef at our venue is too! so we are having a vegan appetizer (vegan bacon avocado panini with sun dried tomato pesto) and a vegan entree, we’re still deciding but our options are: spicy Moroccan tofu kabobs, red Thai curry, black bean avocado chilaquiles, and wood grilled portobello with vegan chorizo stuffing. We’re also having a meat entree because our families are big meat eaters lol

Our venue/caterer had vegan specific meals that we could request for our vegan guests. I honestly don't remember what it was, but we had 2 vegan guests and they both made sure to tell us that it was delicious and they were grateful.

We did a buffet, so our main meal was able to accommodate vegetarians and GF people.

    Oh man that sounds delicious!!

My fiance and I are vegan, too, so we're going with Indian food since it'll satisfy all of our guests and us too! Not to mention we're having an open bar so wanted something heavy for people to eat. Chana Masala, naan, samosas, yummm.

Loving that appetizer idea - may run that by my venue too haha.

But if people are looking for ideas, it's pretty easy to get venues/caterers to at least serve a pasta dish for veggie people!

That sounds amazing!! My fiancé’s family is from South Texas and I don’t think many of them have tried Indian food, but it’s definitely one of our favorites!! I think Indian food is generally such a crowd pleaser yet different from “standard” wedding food like chicken, pasta, etc... Great choice 😋🤤

Still in the process of working out the details of catering, but want it to be as inclusive as possible, and personally I don’t like the idea of giving one group of guests something that is very different in style to the rest. The plan is for the first course and dessert for everyone to be vegan, and a vegan option for the main course with the common sides for everyone. At the moment, the thinking is mushroom and chestnut pâté for the first course, stuffed butternut squash for the main option, and then poached pears with (non-dairy) chocolate sauce and vanilla sorbet for dessert (might do ice-cream for the dairy eaters). I don’t tolerate lactose very well, so I’m a fan of non-dairy dishes.

I’m vegetarian, at our wedding we had eggplant parm, cheese tortellini, salad, and veggies (a local Italian restaurant was our caterer, so delicious!). We also had meat lasagna and something with shrimp for the non-vegetarians.

I’m a vegetarian as is most of my family! Pasta is also a safe option! Something with couscous and vegetables or a grain like quinoa is great! A stir fry is easy to make and also easy to make well! We already decided that we’re doing a plated meal with three options to choose from. Our vegetarian meal will be a sundried tomato pasta because that’s one of my favorite dishes 😍

Besides our meat entrees, We're having a salad, baked potato bar, white Cheddar Mac & cheese and wild rice with mushrooms which some of our vegetarian guests will be fine with as a meal. Our caterer offers vegetarian/vegan/gluten free etc meals, but will only provide 10 specialty meals total, more than 10 they require us to pay full on for another entree choice. We believe it's vegan eggplant lasagna but aren't 100% sure as the caterer has been answering very vaguely when it comes to specialty meals. We're not pushing for answers yet as we won't even know for sure how many and what type of specialty meals we'll need based on RSVP's. It's important for us to to provide for our vegan and vegetarian guests so we'll make sure they have something there and put our menu on the website so that our guests know what we're serving and to contact us if they need something special .

The venue we're looking at has a great vegetarian/vegan menu, which is a big plus for me since I was vegan for 5 years (am not any longer) and have a number of friends who will probably need this option. Since I was this guest for years, I was pretty skeptical about the menu but it looks fantastic! The vegan entrees include Pad Thai, a marinated portobello mushroom dish, eggplant with tomato sauce and an herbed white bean puree, and a spicy cauliflower dish. There was also a ravioli dish that was vegetarian, not vegan. I may consider ordering one of those honestly!

We have an early afternoon ceremony with an hors d'oeuvres reception, so no full meal. I'm the closest thing to a vegetarian (I do eat seafood, but no land or air meat), so luckily this wasn't a huge concern for us. That said, our hors d'oeuvres are carne asada pinwheels, crab cakes, veggie spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, individual cheese and bread plates, and chips with salsa and guacamole. The only thing I can't have is the carne asada pinwheels, and a vegan would still be able to have 2.5 out of 5 things offered (the .5 being the bread from the bread and cheese plate lol).

I'm not sure yet. The menu options offered some vegetarian dishes but nothing really for vegans. I plan on asking how to comfortably accommodate our guests at our menu tasting next month.

My BBQ catering is smoking whole portobello mushrooms for our vegetarian guests. that plus some veggie sides like green beans ,Mac & Cheese, and salad. so far my return RSVPs have been pretty excited about the mushrooms! I have had more requests for that than the pork!

(our other options are brisket, pork shoulder and chicken thigh)

Butternut squash ravioli was the entree option for our vegetarian guests. We didn't have any vegan guests in attendance

I'm vegan, and I love things like veggie samosas, pakora, channa masala, beyond burgers, salad bowls with quinoa and etc. One thing is to make sure things are labelled "vegan" because often people tell me "oh it's ok I have a greek salad here for you" or something. I don't eat cheese, so greek salad is a fail. I would just nod politely and not say anything though.
