What Are You Doing With Your Bouquet After The Wedding?

What’s everyone doing with their wedding flowers after the wedding? I’m considering having a piece made from the dried flowers that replicates the bouquet but it’s almost $600 for a 12x12 and I haven’t talked myself into it. The concept is a AWESOME and I know I’d love it but I want to hear everyone...

I’m not having the traditional bouquet made for me. I’m actually having a bouquet of fake flowers that have dice in the center (I’m a nerd who happens to be allergic to flowers). However, I think I’m going to get something to put it in for safe keeping because all the work I’m going to put into it I don’t want it to come apart!

Yes they know- they all happen to be co workers of mine and we all work at an assisted living facility. One of them was actually the one who came up with the idea and I was thrilled and everyone else was on board!

Our wedding is a year and a half away but I would love to have my flowers donated to a hospital or hospice facility. Both of my grandfathers died from cancer so I think that would be a nice way to honor their memories. Smiley heart

I might keep one for my own house, but otherwise I'm planning to take them to one of the assisted living homes in my town. I'm DIYing my own bouquet and centerpieces with fresh flowers.

They actually, won't fall apart, all the moisture is pulled out of them. It takes several days/weeks to dry them completely.

They retain there color and you can put a sealer on them before putting them in a glass box of some sort.

Just trying to save you some moneySmiley smile
I owed a florist and we did it for brides, all the time.
Its the original size and shape of the boquet, just dried.

I'm sure the picture, will be beautiful! And it will take up less space, because you can hang it.
    Congratulations!

I haven't really thought about it but all of these ideas are amazing! Preserving the flowers is such a lovely way to create an everlasting memory.

We're having paper flowers out of comic books, so theyll be adopted into our home decor.

I’m not trying to rain on your parade but I’ve been told a bathroom is the worst place to store dried flowers, even in a shadow box. I just don’t want you to ruin flowers you spent money on that hold sentimental value!

I love the idea of preserving your bouquet but it never occurred to me. I may dry them myself now that it’s been suggested.

Ohh that makes perfect sense. Then by my vanity! Haha, didn't know even in a shadow box the moisture would be a problem. Thanks for letting me know!

I made my deposit today! I went with this pressed flower option and am hoping to recreate my bouquet. My wedding is June 6, 2020 so I have time but I wanted to get something locked in.

We're leaving Sunday morning for our honeymoon, which leaves pretty much no time to deal with them. I've decided to gift my bouquet to a dear friend, and I'm going to either send photos of it to someone on Etsy to do an embroidered replica, or else do the embroidered replica myself. I embroider, I've just never tried something quite like that before. The ones on Etsy are LOVELY, though, and that's where I got the idea. I'm happier hanging a colorfast embroidery hoop up, rather than dried flowers. I'm also going to do a hoop with some of my veil material and lace, and do a whole grouping of wedding wall art wit them.
