What are you doing for groomsmen gifts?

Ciara, on August 11, 2011 at 2:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

We are at a stand still on ideas for the groomsmen's gifts! We orginally were going to do flasks but 1 of the GM's is completely against drinking so that idea is out the window. Our budget is limited since we are now a month away from the wedding as well.

What are your guys doing for GM gifts?

How do the guys all feel about cigars? That could be a fun idea, but I would think someone who doesn't drink probably wouldn't go for cigars.

What about ties that could also serve as attire for the wedding? I really like the ties at SoutherProper.com. You could get them each a tie that has something to do with them, like a hobby or pasttime, or even a favorite sports team.

You don't have to give them all the same gift.... you can always get something different for each guy. Or, you can give them all flasks except for the guy who is against drinking and get him something else.

I would suggest different gifts though... something that is different and unique to each guy (within your budget of course).

We haven't decided, but when my brother got married in June he gave marvel comic book character cuff links. My brother is super into the whole Marvel universe and calls his 5 groomsmen the "Avengers" so it was a pretty cool gift to them. I'll attach a photo since I think they're cool too. : P

@Jessica L.-my FH would LOVE that! Too bad we only have a MOH and BM! lol I can't wait to show him this picture when he gets home!

So far he has decided to give his BM a combo flask/cigar holder with 2 really good cigars and the flask filled with some really awesome whiskey. I'm sure we will do one other thing but not really sure what yet.

I don't even know.. they are all super different in personalities! I might just leave it up to FH. I'd like to do flasks if we can afford it because that's the one single thing they all have in common lol

Our Best Man doesn't drink either but he's outdoorsy so we got him a very nice Leatherman tool that does everything. DH had it engraved with "May the best man win". lol For his other groomsman, we got him a really nice lighter since he smokes shisha/hookah. His other gm was a "groom's chick", his sister, and we got her jewelry and a Coach wristlet. I think Leatherman tools have all kinds of neat things under $100 that guys would like.

We got them all tie tacks made through etsy.com (seller is spiffycool). They are specific to their interests and they can wear them the day of. They are actually made from scrabble pieces. The pictures show them as necklaces...but of course they came as tie tacks.

Then we got them engraved pilsners from engravedgiftcollection.com with just their name and "groomsmen" or "best man".
