The ceremony/reception was held in a city park. It started an hour and 15 minutes late, because the bride said she wanted to make an entrance. REALLY! Now I remind you we was seating outside with the sun beaming hard with no shade, umbrellas or nothing. The ceremony was entirely too long, the processional was 30 minutes alone. The wedding party consist of 15 BM,15 GM,3 FG,2 RB, a broom carrier, 2 little boys holding a banner and a mini B&G. Not including the 3 solos, 2 readers and officiate that wanted to have church. After we arrived at the hall, there was no cocktail hour, no music . One of the family members asked the DJ could he play music until the B&G arrive. He said No he will start at the time he was paid to start and not before. So we sat for another hour with no hors d'oeuvres or music. After the B&G arrived the party started, they had 7 important dances and then decided to serve dinner. The line started for the buffet and half-way though they ran out of food. So about 20% of the guest didn’t get any food at all. During this time I would say about 40 guests left the reception and never returned. The parents finally made it back after another hour or so with food. The rest of the guest was served and it was going ok. Now the reception hall that was used is owned by the city, so you can’t have any alcohol. The park manager pulled the B & G to the side and told them some of their guest was drinking outside. And it must be put away immediately or the event must end. I felt so bad for her I almost cried !

Meghan, we all know that the brides who are self centered won't learn a darn thing from this.

Wow what a joke! That is insane. She sounds damn full of it to plan such a self absorbed wedding. If she planned on having no consideration for her guests she should have just eloped. A mini Bride and Groom, seriously? If anything I feel for you and the guests that your saturday night was so hot, hungry, and bored lol. But I guess be happy that you weren't in her bridal party I bet she was a bridezilla too.

Sounds pretty trashy to me. Very ill-planned and rude.

I don't feel bad for her one tiny bit - what a terrible thoughtless hostess. I'd make sure I never went to another function she throws - not even a tupperware party.

Wow! Her wedding will definitely be talked about for a long time to come!

Don't feel bad for her one bit...it is a sad situation and she sounds like she probably thought her wedding was awesome and everyone loved it even though they ran out of food and people were tired from waiting.

Is is she coming to your wedding?

I would be upset with the bride, and would have probably left myself. That is very poor planning!

I would have left the reception and kept my gift. Ridiculous.

No, NO, I can't feel sorry for her not after the whole entire wedding started with her being as late as she was just because she wanted to be seen. NO way in the name of the GOOD Lord...It was her day didn't she think she was going to be seen enough. That was right down crazy. SMH at them....

Very poor planning indeed. Wow. Each step FH and I have made in the planning process we always think about our guests. We went to a wedding that wasn't poorly planned but had details that neglected the guests. Not as bad as your example but its still makes you sit back and think.
