Wedding Wedges? Yea or Nay

Kristen, on August 8, 2012 at 12:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

I'm in love with the color blue. My BM dresses are Horizon from Davids Bridal. I want to wear matching shoes with my dress, but we're having the ceremony on a lawn and I'm not the most *graceful* person. I really want these blue beauties I found on JCrew (on sale no less) but FH and one of BM thinks they are too casual. Thoughts?

I think wedges could work but these look too casual.

I personally don't think they look too casual. They are actually kind of like what I was looking for, but I want them in a paler blue.

Soooo u can't walk in heels at all? Cuz IMHO I agree with FH. Maybe go with a small heel or a different type of wedge. Good luck.

Sorry, but a big ole Nay from this girl. I like the idea of blue shoes, but I agree with others they look too casual. To me, they look like they would be cute with a day dress.

Kristen - i love those shoes. I too, am getting married outside in a garden setting. With that being said, heels and grass don't go together very well. I looked for months trying to find a cute pair of wedges but couldnt find a pair i liked. I ended up going with flats, & am actually getting a pair of silver sparkle Toms to wear also - to match my flower girl. Smiley smile I think wedges are just fine, and heels aren't necessary. I dont think those look too casual either. Very cute.

Do you have a long dress? It's not like many people would see them except if you get pictures of them. Some people are wearing flip flops! They don't have to be dressy if you don't want them to be.

This is always a mystery to me...

I agree with Heather. Most brides wear long dresses, so the shoes are really not showing. I have over 1,500 pictures total from our wedding and my shoes are showing in two: one when they were taking pics of details, and one as I was walking to the venue holding the dress up.

And I really like those shoes :-)

I don't think they're too casual - if you have a long dress (as Heather said, they won't really be seen anyway if your dress is long). I probably won't even be wearing heels - I'm going to wear flats! I think if you like the shoes, you should wear them Smiley smile

My dress is long and I was thinking the same as Mrs. S, that other than a couple of pics, no one is going to notice. At my brother's wedding in May, my SIL gave all us BMs flipflops to wear with our floor length dresses

Have to admit I read this 'Wedding Wedgies' and I had to click! haha, anyway my two cents is where something comfortable. You shoes will not be seen unless you want them to be!

I am yay for wedding wedges!! My ceremony is on the grass, and even though I can walk just fine in heels, I decided to do a wedge so I didn't have any malfunctions with my heel getting stuck.
