Wedding Website- Wedding Party Descriptions

Victoria and Ralph, on August 28, 2014 at 10:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

FH and I are working on our website and are at the part where we put in information about our wedding party. It has a spot for their names, roles in our wedding, photos, and descriptions.

Other than how we know them all, what can we put in their description sections? What did you do for this page?

Thank you!

I'm not the best example, but I made mine funny. lol Typically you state how you met and interesting facts about them. Here's what I said about one BM

    Jamie

    Knitting Fiend AKA Bridesmaid

Jamie and Janeen met in July of 1998 for the first time, but certainly not the last. In fact, they had met over two years before thanks to the glorious, GLORIOUS, invention known as the internet and Prodigy bulletin boards. Floridian at heart, Jamie has spent a few years living in Japan and enjoys many carryovers from her time there, including scaring japanese tourists who don't realize her fluency and translating manga for us unenlightened americans. Jamie also is a fabulous knitter and deadly with a pair of knitting needles.

I eliminated this and am not even using our website at all...but maybe you can tell how long you have known the person, how you met and maybe some fun tidbits about your friendship

I wrote how I knew them...and something I felt lucky about knowing them specifically like what they brought to my life. I also made a note of who they were at the wedding with...such as their husband and 2 kids or FW.

I skipped this, I think. I don't think guests particularly care, truthfully.

If you do it, I would ask the WP what they want it to say. Sometimes people are uncomfortable or weird about reading about themselves. Plus, it dumps the work on them.

I just put, "Emma's friend from so and so."

    I don't think they need a bio.

Either skip it or just write when you met them/how and maybe a few "fun facts" about them?

Skipping it. We'll have programs if people really care. I've never looked at those when I have been invited to a wedding.
