Wedding veil to cover the face or not?

Mrs. L., on April 6, 2013 at 8:29 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Can anyone give me any insight into whether the veil should cover your face as you walk down the aisle or not? What did you do?

I'm still trying to decide this as well. I think its personal preference, or for religious reasons?

The tradition started to protect the bride from wedding guests giving her the "evil eye" or putting a curse on her. Not typically a concern for the modern bride. Lol

I wanted to wear mine over my face because I love how it looks (my avi picture is my favorite picture from my wedding. Conceited, I know. Lol), but my ceremony venue was very dimly lit and my "entrance" included descending stairs. I couldn't see where I was going. Lol So I ended up not wearing it over my face for the ceremony. Boo.

Yeah I think I've been leaning towards one layer, non face covering. I did't know if that was not recommended though or non-traditonal

No blusher for me thanks, I'm not a fan even though @Jamie's picture is pretty Smiley smile It's totally a preference thing, so if you want to, go for it!

I'm an older bride so no blusher for me, I'm wearing a veil though with a beautiful headpiece, I think it's everyone's preference with a blusher or not, so if you feel comfortable with it go for it, have you tried on a blusher with your dress?

I'll probably have a veil but I don't want to cover, I dont wanna trip and fall on the way down the aisle lol! Plus I think its a little old fashioned and you want the first moment ppl see you in your dress to see your radiant face and smile and makeup!

I just sort of liked it, not for the symbolism or anything, but I liked walking out all veiled, all extra-bridey, and having that moment of having the veil lifted back. It's really personal preference, though.

Personal preference .... no blusher for me more so because the ceremony is outside and I'll have to navigate a long grassy "aisle"

I haven't decided yet. I'll probably wait until I have my hair trial and talk to my hair dresser about how it would work with my hair.
