I bought three chalkboards on sale at Hobby Lobby, then followed this tutorial!! I used a semi-permanent chalk pen/marker, and I think they all came out well!! It was painstaking, TBH, but totally worth saving the money!!

Zazzle is a godsend!!! So many options and customizations! There are also almost always coupon codes or sales going on so just keep checking the site to get the best prices. I ordered save the dates, all invitations and RSVPs and all wedding signs from Zazzle and repurposed frames I had and also found a few others at thrift stores and a local flea market!

I hand wrote mine on chalkboards, but typed/printed my seating chart and place cards. I found a font I liked from dafont.com (you can download fancy fonts for free) and used powerpoint to arrange my text.

I haven’t made any signs yet but I already have my Pinterest boards and YouTube videos ready for when I do... I suggest looking on YouTube, there are so many video tutorials using cheap materials... If you wanted something other than the chalkboard, I seen where people use decorative picture frames and paint the words on the glass.

If you know anyone with a cricut, you could have them cut the words and such out of vinyl on the cheap. I know people on Etsy will do this, but if you only had to pay for materials and a little for time (and no shipping) it'd be super cheap.

I have a cameo and just cut out some vinyl. I had a large mirror in the basement and used it.

We bought canvas panels and some cheap craft paint. Total investment was MAYBE $25 including tax for 4 ish signs.

If you're not the artist type (it's my side gig, so I don't expect everyone to be willing to paint & draw lol) I highly recommend Zazzle, OR find a template you like on Etsy, and have things printed at Office Depot - we did our menus and programs there and it was dirt cheap!

Mirrors at the thrift store are usually really cheap and then a pack a stencils with a chalk marker will do wonders.

My friend went and got plexiglass from lowes or home depot, got it cut into the size rectangles she wanted and bought easles and stood them up. She got white paint pens to write and printed her words on the computer and traced them. She painted the back of the plexiglass to make the lettering stand out!
