Wedding Signage

Gabby, on September 30, 2021 at 3:33 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 5 11
So I'm about to begin my DIY projects for my wedding signage. Is it better to have all the same materials (acrylic, poster, etc) or a combination of different materials?

I prefer a cohesive look, but a lot of people mix and match.

I prefer a cohesive look as well. But that doesn’t mean they all have to be exactly the same, just coordinate with one another. You just want to make sure all the signs look like they are meant for the same wedding. But, this is your day, and really you can do anything stylistically that you want! If you like the look of completely different signage, definitely go for it!

They don't have to match, just look cohesive. My welcome sign and seating chart matched my invitations and were done on poster paper placed in frames..my cards & gifts sign along with tables names are done on acrylic or glass with vinyl in the same color scheme as other signage...it works for me, so do what works for you.

Hey there! I think it looks really polished to have a similar look and theme for all of your signage which includes the materials. For DIY, I recommend either paper or acrylic for the best professional looking results.

You did a great job! You had to do a lot of weeding on the one with the camera! People don’t realize the time & effort that go into them! I follow Cassie Council & Carly Keller on Youtube to get ideas & tips. Here is a mock up for my daughter’s wedding…really tricky when u get into big pieces of vinyl! I haven’t painted the backside of the acrylic yet & if I were to use this I would change the black frame (either paint or find a different way to connect the backing and acrylic. This is just a cheapo, flimsy poster frame that I bought for about $13 to practice on. I have done a lot of vinyl on Christmas ornaments, etc. Trying to decide how to do table numbers. Thanks for sharing your pics of your sign…I think I will copy you on the date one! So nice to know how long they have been together & engaged! I also threw in a photo frame that I practiced on & just used a pale pink paper inside the frame. For reference the poster frames is 22x28 & the photo frames is 5x7. Also, daughter is thinking she would like the easel painted white…easy enough to do with a can of spray paint! Font is Lana Jane from Cricut.

I actually re did a lot of the stuff I made because of the imperfections but now I’m 100% happy with all my sign!! Here are just a few of the things I’ve made for the wedding … I’ve made many other things as well! Also your sign is gorgeous 😍

I think the ones that are glass and use acrylic paint markers look best. You could even use an old farm window with a bunch of panes to do a seating chart by table. However its your day and whatever you want it to be! Just do a mix if that's what you like the look of. I do recommend staying away from dollar tree vinyl because it can peel very easily.
