Wedding Shoes? Converse any body?

RusticChick, on September 9, 2014 at 5:59 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 27

Any body out there wearing converse or sneakers on their bid day? I do not wear heels EVER! I do not want to go from heels to flats because I think it would ruin my dress. I would need it shorted 4 inches with heels, 7 for converse. My FH says sneakers are so more me. My mother thinks you need to have heels on your big day (she is a shoe person)

I should mention the FH is wearing converse!

What are your wedding shoe thoughts? Heels? Converse? Whatever your most comfy in?

I'm assuming your dress is long so you could get away with a lot but I detest sneakers on brides. It just looks so trashy. Matching converse would be cute for a couple photos but it says "teen bride" to me so dressier flats are ideal.

I'm wearing a small heal for my ceremony but when it comes time for the reception I will be changing into white converse that have satin ribbons instead do shoelaces. The ribbons are purple to go with one of my wedding colors. It's my day and I want to be comfortable. Walking around and visiting with family and friends won't be much fun if I'm in pain and hobbling around. I'm like you and don't wear heals often so this is me.

Converse are the only shoes that FH ever wear. He and the groomsmen are. I'm debating if I want to do chucks or not. I may wear nice heels for the ceremony and then switch into chucks afterwards when I'll be doing a lot more moving around.

My bestie is wearing converse at her wedding next week, because she also never wears heels. Her dress is a ballgown, though, so you won't be able to see except for any pictures she may take purposely showing her shoes.

I'm really clumsy and uncomfortable in heels. So I wear these shoes. They are wedges that kinda look like heals but are mostly flat. I LOVE them and have many different colors and wear them all the time. They make a closed shoe that nurses wear, so you know they must be comfy. Not cheap but worth every penny.

But the Converse could be pretty cute too.

I fell off of the little stage thingy when trying on wedding dresses thanks to my heels (which were maybe 2-3 inches). I am not graceful at all. FH ordered a pair of custom converse for me that will match what he wears for the wedding. My dress is long enough for me to get away with it, I may just switch to a pair of gold flats for the garter toss and such.

I wore heels for the first look and my feet were killing me by the end of pictures. I'm so glad I had another shoe option. I kept the heels on for the ceremony and the first part of the reception (the dances) but changed shoes in mid-reception and I'm so glad I did.

If you are wearing a long dress no one will even know what your shoes look like, unless you show them. The only reason people knew I changed shoes was because I showed everyone the converse!

Pics of my heels and the converse, because I love shoes. I dyed the converse, they didn't come out perfect, but I still wore them and they were super comfy!

I wear the occasional heel but I wanted to be super comfortable and so I splurged and bought Custom Converse with my FHs, soon to be mine, last name! It's cute and it works well with most dresses. Something like a mermaid style I wouldn't wear converse with.

I am rocking a pair of converse for my wedding! That's all I ever wear. My dress is long enough to where people won't see them. Plus I can't walk in heels anyway. Smiley smile

I wore flats. I love converse, and sometimes brides with long dresses can pull it off well. But my dress was shorter - tea length. No converse for me.

Low sparkly heels for the walk down the aisle and then flats for the reception.

I ordered these Beachcombers Indian Khussa wedding shoes and they are GORGEOUS, and they are like wearing bedroom slippers LOL!

They come in warm white, ivory, cool white, silver, gold, and a ton of other colors including "something blue". At $37, and they look far more expensive.

Small business in Florida has them made for them and imports direct. They are leather with silk fabric and beading, so the white colors are dyable (if you want to wear after the wedding, but not as white shoes). NOTE: Order the next full size (i.e., 6.5 order 7), and if you're a wide foot and a half size, add another size (e.g., 6.5W order 8).

I'm getting my maids a pair each as a gift, because they're so awesome!

But if you're not into the sparkles, then go with the converse. I went to a wedding where the BMs wore pink converse dyed to match their dresses, and the boys wore white ones with black suits. Super-cute!
