Wedding resale

jamelyn, on July 23, 2019 at 2:13 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Has anyone had any luck being able to find and purchase things on a wedding resale group? So far all I have found his Facebook and the problem with those groups is that theyre all usually in larger cities and very few anywhere near me. Usually the page will say at the top must be willing to pick up within city limits. I'm not really sure why they're so strict about that because. if I found something I wanted to purchase i would of course pay for shipping. You can do a search for wedding decor for sale and get maybe 10 results in various groups but without being a member or friends with the person who posted it You can maybe send a private message to the person and pray they see the message request....I've had pretty good luck so far being able to find what I need to Make my wedding look a lot more expensive than it is With 2 exceptions ( I had to give up on pompous grass a long time Ago because no one knew how to find it , etsy and Amazon are the only sites that have the plumes. You can buy dried pompous grass (which is brown)from the Ukraine but it is sold in sets of 3 stalks and very very very expensive. This was annoying because I have seen many many many pinterest Posts of pompous grass weddings Claiming it's great because it's pretty and a cost effective wedding flower but none of them tell you where to get it. My florist Said she had never run into something being advertised that no one sold at all 🤯 OK rant over). The one thing I've really really been trying to find used Are these copper and rose gold geometric shapes you use for centerpieces or candle holders And what not. They're consistently way too expensive for me to buy new. Which is why I started looking into Buying from brides who have already gotten married. I'm sure they would appreciate Getting some money back and getting it out of the house, And I'd appreciate not paying $40 For a 3" tall triangle. I see lots of people have listed them on Facebook in various wedding resale groups But they're almost always the 1st thing to go. Are there other ways to find women selling Their decorations after their weddings? And along that note does anyone know Of any good websites to buy You're smaller more bulk items in. Google search usually returns a whole page of ads before the actual results come up. And it is exhausting looking through every single one to find out it's way too expensive or they don't have the color you need etc... By the way if you're reading this and you haven't figured it Out yet etsy is never the cheapest option (see picture below). Id love to hear from other brides what they have done.

The reason people are strict about being willing to pick up within "city limits" is because there are more scammers than legitimate buyers, unfortunately. I found this out personally when I tried to sell something on craigslist. They are so cunning too so they know how to pay you and then reverse the funds. So the only safest way to sell something is face to face with cash. If you see something you really like, then make the trip to that city to get it. The cost in fuel for you to do so is still probably cheaper than buying new.

Also, WW prohibits any buying and selling so you are out of luck here. You could try craigslist in your area. Otherwise, you may just have to readjust your wedding style to fit within your budget.

On another note, Oriental Trading is actually pretty decent. On their website, they have another site called "Marry Me" and there are some cute wedding things on there. It is not the best quality, but as we all know, quality costs money.

That's a shame. I think That would make a fantastic website or app. I have absolutely no problem with use candlestick holders. And I'm sure Anyone else paying for their own wedding would either hahaha.

Try offerup in your area! I found most of the items i need for my center pieces for a very affordable price. I also found my wedding dress there brand new and I was about to purchase it from Davids Bridal. Saved big bucks.

We've had pretty good luck with NextDoor. We bought an ornate mirror in a local transaction to be repurposed as a welcome sign. I've also seen a lot of posts on FB Marketplace, as you mentioned. (Centerpiece decor, parasols, fans, etc.)

I'm DIYing a lot and have been scouring facebook marketplace for items. As for the geometric candle holders you like, I recently saw some at my local 99 cent store! If I remember correctly it was like $4.99 for a two pack and they were gold or silver but nothing a can of spray paint can't fix if you're looking for rose gold.
