Wedding program fan diy...

Sharlean , on May 17, 2017 at 6:46 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18

I've been working on my wedding programs...they are also being used as fans for the guests. However the glue is not working to keep the program together. What would you recommend I use to hold the pieces of card stock together? I've used rubber cement and that failed. The tacky glue has been drying for over a day and is still wet....and the programs are curling. Please help! Thank you!

I think your best bet would be using a hot glue gun? I've not tried it before but it makes the most sense. I was going to do this originally too but ended up just buying folding fans on clearance at Michael's and skipping programs. They do have kits to make these through Brides brand though, which might come with a peel and stick glue that would help better.

Hot glue gun or glue dots! I love glue dots. They also have scrapbooking tape that works great for cardstock

Also, what weight card stock are you using? For these you might be best using a heavier card stock. They make lower weights like 67/90/110/140 lb paper and the heavier the paper the less likely it will be to curl or look wrinkled from stuff like being glued together - the stuff like 67 lb paper can still curl pretty easily.

I'm not sure of the weight. I'll have to look at that as well!

E6000 spray adhesive. I just used this to glue 175 program fans and they came out amazing.

Sharlean if you even need a fan for your guests, you're not hosting well.

I would put the fans under something of some weight to help seal them together.

I hope the fans are just novelty and you have A/C if it's actually hot. If not, you need that figured out immediately.

Just a thought about all the work you're putting into your programmes, I have never brought one home from the multitudes of weddings I've attended. They've gone straight into the recycling bin after the ceremony. I carry a teeny purse and I'm not putting that in there.
