Hey guys can you tell me about this gift to your spouse... it's this a necessity or can it be skipped?

We decided to not give each other a wedding gift. He is my gift already.

We skipped it. I didn't get a present, even though our wedding day was also my birthday. There was enough excitement that day without that.

You can skip it! We did something on rehearsal din night before when we handed gifts to everyone in the wedding party. We did super super small gifts that were really just a novelty. I gave my husband some in case you get cold feet socks

Thanks ladies, that was very helpful. I had a small gift in mind but I'll save it for a birthday or something.. I like the idea of something more personal like a letter anyway!

We're skipping it. It's his birthday two days before the wedding, and I honestly didn't even know it was a thing until I started wedding planning.

I don't think we'll be giving each other gifts, having each other and being wed to one another is a good enough gift to me! Or simply us going on a honeymoon would suffice !!

We are instead of gifts doing a journal that we wrote in daily until it was full. (We have been engaged more than a year and it would have been like 3 if we continued) we are exchanging them before the ceremony.

It’s not necessary at all but I reallyyyy wanted to do a boudoir shoot for him (and you know for myself too haha) because I knew he would love it. So we agreed to do gifts and forgo Valentine’s Day (which we will be on our honeymoon for) and potentially skipping gifts for our dating anniversary (2 months before the wedding) and just doing dinner. It’s really up to you guys. I’d talk it over with him.

We skipped too because we paid for most of our wedding, which was a gift to each other.

My gift isn't really material per se, but I've been secretly learning the piano and plan to play a song for him

I'm getting my guy some fun small items. He's a big Green Lantern fan so I got him cufflinks, socks, and a pin. He also likes to play D&D, so I got him some new dice as well.

I was originally planning small, super cute gifts that I know would make her smile. Since it is the anniversary of our first kiss as well as our wedding day I wanted to commemorate the moment, but we both agreed that we're buying each other a wedding and will be going to Ireland next year for our honeymoon so we were not going to go crazy. That was until she got an incredible deal on a laptop that I really needed for my officiant business as a wedding gift. Now the cute little gifts seem so small and while I know she doesn't want or expect anything, I am a bit freaked trying to come up with something else. But, I would say that quality over quantity so if you see something cute that would have meaning to you and your fiance, pick it up and add a card. If you aren't feeling anything, skip it and just enjoy marrying your love.
