Wedding planner??

Claudia, on May 14, 2021 at 8:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello everyone I just got engaged recently and like any other bride I have a million questions as to what things I need or what not for example hiring a wedding planner. Do I really need one I'm trying to save as much money as I can and I'm just wondering if I really need to hire one. For the people that got married with out one how did the wedding go as expected did you decorate? Who did all the preparing on the day of?

Short answer, no. You don't need one.

Longer answer is they are INCREDIBLY helpful! We have a planner and our life is so so so much easier with her. I don't have to figure anything out myself. She set up timelines for when we need things done, found vendors, reviews our contracts before we sign them, handles tracking and organizing RSVPs, she will be managing everything day of. (we also hired a design planner who is handing floral, helping us pick decor, telling us what to put on tables, how to decorate, and how to get to my vision for the wedding day)

Right now I've noticed a boom in online planners. Basically someone who maybe doesnt live near you, but still finds vendors in your area and helps you stay organized. They are a bit less expensive.

I would say that a day of coordinator kind of seems like a must (and many venues require one, or will provide you with one) Otherwise it will be up to you to delegate all the day of tasks to people in your family/friends, which can be stressful.

So, no, you really don't need one. But everyone I've talked to has really benefited from having one

Wedding planners are not necessary if you’re someone that’s organized and you enjoy planning.
I would recommend a day of coordinator for everyone though. They’re much cheaper and are there the day of to decorate, organize everything, cleanup so you don’t have to worry on the actual day. You do all the preparations and planning beforehand but on the wedding day you basically give everything to the DOC and they handle it for you.

I pretty much planned my own wedding. I did hire a day of coordinator. I want my day to flow as smooth as possible. She's responsible for making sure all my vendors get there and setup. She is also responsible for our timeline the day of. She'll let us know when it is time to cut the cake and etc.

You do not need one. They are helpful, but not necessary. I will say I think a DOC is necessary! They will help make sure you day goes off without a hitch and really take the stress off of you on your wedding day.
