Wedding planner

My cousin is a wedding planner in Cancun. I have been trying to plan this wedding since January and I have barely gotten anywhere. We even went to visit recently in Cancun to look at places and left without falling in love with a place. She takes several days to respond or get certain information. Is this usual for any wedding planner ? Or is this a conflict of interest ? I just don’t see us getting anywhere with this wedding because I feel like she is slacking because she is a family member. I just don’t know what to do at this point. My fiancé thinks I should go through some one else but I don’t want to be rude. I would like hear some thoughts ! Please and thank you !
