Wedding planner

I didn’t hire a wedding planner. I figured I’m going to be planning everything anyway. But I did hire a day of coordinator! It’ll be her job to communicate with all the vendors on the wedding day so that we won’t need to be bothered, and keep the timeline on schedule.

Is it in her contract that she’ll attend meetings? I wouldn’t expect her to do anything that’s outside of what’s listed in her contract.

The only vendor I did on my own was my photographer. Our wedding planner went with me to the stationary shop to help design invitations, to the florist to help design centerpieces and bouquets, and to the event rental place to pick out linens and place settings. She also did our menu tasting and venue walkthroughs with us. For our DJ I just hired someone she recommended without meeting with him. So yeah she met with the majority of vendors with us and then took over all communication with them. I would ask her about it.

Our wedding planner did not go with us when we met with our photographer, videographer, or florist. But she has done everything else. Including securing all of our rentals. I tell her what I want, she finds options, I make a selection, and she books everything. Or if I find something I want I send to her and she takes care of. It has really taken a lot of stress off of me!
