Wedding planner

Future Mrs.greenwood, on February 17, 2019 at 3:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
I am located in Charlotte but both myself and fiancé are from St Louis so we decided to have our wedding there since all our family resides there. Anyway I signed up on WeddingWire looking for a planner and found one. I’ve been working with her since last August and sometime in Oct and Nov I had to put a deposit down for the venue so we sent the money .. I just so happened to call the venue to learn she never paid the deposit . Her reasoning is because she was trying to keep down savings and didn’t want us to lose our money. To make a long story short I threaten to call the cops on her and the venue but they are supposedly working on the best deal. Would you trust that she is telling the truth?

How is not putting the deposit down helping in her cost savings??? I'd be pissed if I learned that she had done that to me...especially if it ended up costing me the chosen date!

I had a full service wedding planner and she never handled paying other vendors so this sounds sketchy to me. She would communicate with vendors and work out contracts but I would pay the vendor directly. The only time I gave money to our wedding planner was for her fee and for the welcome bags that she got stuff for. But I paid her after the fact when she told me how much it was and provided me with receipts. Does this wedding planner have good reviews? I would cut ties with this person if I were you.

I am contemplating on doing that on Monday because she has had every excuse. I have to make sure she paid this venue before I do so. Yes she has reviews on here actually but something not sitting right with me. I have a feeling she spent our money but won’t know for sure until tomorrow.

Exactly same thing I said I will be calling the guy in the morning to discuss what’s going on because he seemed surprised that I called him. He said well you haven’t paid and I said yes we paid back in October he said well you need to talk to your wedding planner.

I would make sure she paid them the money immediately and if she doesn’t then give you the money back. I would then never work with her again. Good luck!

Am not working with a wedding planner, but her actions definitely sound sketchy. Just knowing she is holding your venue deposit would make me furious, because you can run the risk of losing your date or your deposit all together. I would say get rid of her, and hire a better more qualified planner love.

I would set her straight and get your money back. I hope you haven’t lost your date at your venue. Good luck!

I think she spent it and stalling trying to get it back. I would rather she be honest and say it but I'm on to her and know telling I may be on the news but she is going to pay for this. I will ruin her for good ..She done involved the venue and they have no clue who I am or what's going on.
