Wedding planner yay or nay

Katy, on July 15, 2021 at 7:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
Did anyone use a wedding planner? Was it worth it? I am starting to consider like a day of planner. Thoughts or advice?

If you use the search feature for the forum (top right of the right of the page) the general consensus is that it is very beneficial to hire a month of coordinator who is not employed by the venue. They work behind the scenes to keep your day running smoothly and fix any issues that arise so that you and guests don’t know about them. Your family/friends do not have the experience/information to pull this off and they can’t enjoy themselves as guests if they are working.

I agree with the Michelle. You should really consider hiring a month of or day of coordinator. My husband and I did all the planning and all the coordinating on our wedding day. He was getting calls from the catering company right when he was getting ready to walk to the ceremony while I kept getting calls from other vendors while getting ready. We did the set up and tear down (of course some people helped) but there is nothing we regret more than not hiring at least the day of coordinator. I felt like a wedding planner on my own wedding with an expensive dress and I wish I could just go back to do it all again with a coordinator. we seriously did not get to enjoy our wedding and it will always make me sad. Good luck and enjoy it all Smiley smile

YES one million times. Hire somebody a month out. You will be so lucky you did. Your wedding day will be 10x more stressful if you have to worry about little things a planner should be doing. Take this special day to relax and enjoy every moment! It only happens once.

I’m still on the hunt for a wedding planner , just cause I have no clue what needs to be done and I don’t want to be attending anyone , the day of my wedding , I don’t want to be in charge off food staff being on time or , decorations being on time or delayed . Reception or ceremony .Overall I’m hunting for price .

I always suggest hiring a month of or day of coordinator! It'll help take so much pressure off of you the day of your wedding! They'll take care of communicating with vendors, anyone with questions, any mishaps etc. That way you get to sit back and enjoy your day.

I'm team no wedding planner, but I like to plan events and have enjoyed the wedding planning process! I also don't see a point in paying someone a ton of money to do something I can already do myself lol. If you like to take control over planning, and have a general idea of what you want, then I don't think hiring a planner is necessary.

Month of and Day of coordinators are great for offering guidance! You could search for some in your area and inquire about their pricing and what all they include with their services.

If you hate planning and see wedding planning as something you won't enjoy, then I'd also look up wedding planners and compare prices.

I hired a day of coordinator even though the venue told me I wouldn’t need one as I was having a small wedding and they could take care of everything. Well, THANK GOODNESS I did! The coordinator for the venue was out the day of my wedding. There was a thunderstorm so everything needed to be moved inside while I was getting ready. I can’t imagine not having a DOC- they made everything perfect!

Go on Instagram and do a search for coordinators in your area. Browse their websites (most have prices listed, avoid those that don’t) and get a consultation to see who you click with

We invested in full wedding planning last summer shortly after getting engaged. It’s really been the best investment as she brings us in at decision point. I don’t have to research things myself like I would if I was planning my own wedding. Working full time and having a family, I just don’t have the desire or energy to plan my wedding so we paid for the convenience.

    Hi!

I am a wedding planner, and I believe there are different types of brides. Some will absolutely benefit from a full-service coordinator and planner. The full-service coordinator will be with you every step of the way until your last vendor leaves, following your reception. Other brides either don't need or want a full-service coordinator. Luckily there are many options, including a day-of coordinator. I have also just recently launched a wedding planner masterclass to walk brides through the whole wedding planning process. This is a great alternative and perfect for somebody who has an idea of what they want but still wants advice throughout the process.

If anybody has any general questions about wedding planning they would like me to answer here, I will gladly respond, or if you have more specific questions, you can find me at Elizabeth Newman Events, and I'd be happy to help!
