Wedding Pictures Location

Hey Everyone! We really want to take our pictures at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park. Even though our wedding isn't until August 2021, I'm already worrying about what to do if it's raining out. Anyone from Buffalo or familiar with the Buffalo area and have any ideas on a backup plan?

    Hey Ariel!

This will be a beautiful backdrop for your photos!

Your photographer is a great resource when scouting location. Have you booked one yet? Sometimes they have ideas/suggestions of areas where they've photographed before!

Hey! I’m from Buffalo area. My friends just got married outside this past August 2019 and it was the one Saturday that rained so hard all afternoon. They took pictures with a clear umbrella. It was honestly stunning. Her train got messy but it was after the ceremony so it was okay. The weather around here is so unpredictable, there isn’t much you can do about it, at least it won’t be snowing! Haha (hopefully!)

That's what I'm worried about! I don't want to spend $1000 or so on a dress then get it all muddy! Debating on possibly reserving a spot at the Botanical Gardens, but FH loves being in the woods, and chestnut ridge was one of the first places we went for a date! So it would be cute to be there!

    Hmm. Maybe have your bridal
party help you with your train and bottom of dress and see if your photographer can maybe put like a clear tarp down under you for actual pictures? Botanical gardens charges for pictures, you can only have so many people and it’s only certain time frames!

The tarp idea is actually a great one if you're worried about keeping your dress clean! Whenever you book a photographer, speak to them about it! I've heard of situations where a bride has one to stand on and the photographer photoshops it out in post production Smiley smile
