Wedding Party gifts

Kristin, on January 1, 2020 at 1:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Are you planning to give your wedding party a gift? Originally we were not because we purchased their dresses and/or ties, cufflinks and pocket squares. However, my wonderful new husband bought me a gift for the wedding of a hand warmer/device charger, because I am always cold. It is the greatest little gadget that I had to get one for each of the ladies in the wedding as well. Then of course we had to get something for the men as well. So that ended up being one of those all in one tools (like a Leatherman). The decision definitely impacted our tight budget but was so worth it. Everyone loved the gifts and all got used.

I would say if you are already paying for those things maybe not or maybe a little something. I am only having my MOH attend my elopement so I will get her a robe and a thank you spa pkg but since the photography I am looking at is much cheaper then I planned for I may pay for her hair and make up too. Check etsy for some cheap ideas.

Anything that you get your wedding party that's specifically meant for the wedding (getting ready robes, matching jewelry for them to wear, etc.), while nice since they can keep it, really shouldn't be considered a gift since it's literally a prop you're using for your wedding.

The idea for wedding party gifts (definitely get them something, it's a great little thank-you and doesn't have to be expensive) is to shop for each person like it's their birthday and to get them something they'll all individually like. If you know there's one present across the board they'd all enjoy, then I think that's fine (I know others may disagree, but I think this can work in certain situations).

If it's in budget, I think the gifts are nice. Regardless, I would write everyone a thank you letter for being involved.
