Wedding Night

MLS, on December 7, 2020 at 11:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

For brides/grooms with local wedding venues.

Are you staying the night at a hotel even though the venue is local? or are you just heading home?

We got a hotel even though our apartment was just 15 minutes away. It just seemed like part of the whole experience. Something about going home to our normal apartment seemed like a kind of blah way to end.

We’re still a little far out but we are planning to stay at a hotel for the wedding night to kind of keep the magic going! It just seems right to end the night at a different/fancier place! We hope to maybe have brunch the next morning, go to our apartment to finish packing/organizing, sleep in our apartment and then head off to our honeymoon trip the following morning.

Yes, we stayed at our hotel block even though we live 15 minutes away. Our afterparty was at a bar down the street and we hosted a farewell brunch the following morning for out of town guests at the hotel's restaurant. Also we wanted to have the hotel suite for getting ready the day of. It made a lot of sense logistically! They also upgraded us to the fanciest suite in the hotel because our guests filled nearly 30 rooms in the hotel block.

We are going home on our wedding night. Our wedding is costing us $50K and a night’s accommodation in the city in a nice hotel (next to our venue) will cost us about $500-1,000 and is an unnecessary expense.

We do have out of town guests who will be leaving the day after our wedding though so the intention is to do a late ‘recovery brunch’ the day after the wedding.

We’re staying at a hotel even though we don’t live that far away. Like others have said I feel like it’s part of the whole experience.

I live about an hour away and I'm staying in a hotel the night before and of course we'll have one the night of. Even though we don't live that far, we want the whole experience and like others said, going home to your apartment kinda feels anticlimactic lol Plus I hate driving too late at night and would rather rest up. I know most of my family will be staying in the hotel we got a courtesy block at.

We went home. More specifically, my MOH and her husband drove us home (they are angels of the highest order, we adore them).

I'm glad we did. DH slipped out the next morning and got us breakfast, we didn't have to worry about checking out (we slept until at least noon, possibly later), and we were comfortable.

We are staying the night at the hotel after our big wedding. After our minimony we went home afterwards, but we will be staying the full weekend at the hotel for the big wedding(Our venue is the hotel's ballroom downstairs). So after the reception we can go right upstairs.

Our venue was about 30 minutes from our home, but we stayed in the house they have on site. We didn’t want to go home to “normal” life right away and it would have been a pain to pack everything up and get it back to our house immediately after the wedding.

Our venue is about an 1 1/2 hours from our apartment. We're staying in a hotel even though we realistically could just drive back. We like how it'll feel like we're on a 'vacation' away from home. Plus it would be a less than exciting way to end the day haha!

We don't currently have our own place due to saving for the wedding so we'll definitely be staying in a hotel. Most likely will be getting ready there as well.

For us it's more for convenience. We live 20 minutes away from our venue and still booked 2 rooms closer to the venue. We booked the night before the wedding and night of, that way we can cut down travel by already being there and ready to go. Our hotel does complimentary breakfast each morning of your stay, so we won't have to leave even for food. Also it'll be much easier to get ready separately than if we didn't have the rooms. The room I will be using morning of I plan on hanging my dress out in and my sister will sleep in that room the night before. I'll head over when it's time to get ready. So no peeps happening with my dress either. At that point it makes sense to spend the night considering I already paid for it.

We had a small (17 guests) wedding at our house and stayed in our home for the night. We made it clear to our friends and family that no one would be staying at our house on our wedding night and they needed to find their own lodging. The coordinator did a great job of wrapping everything up by 10:30pm. It was nice to wake up in our own space with the dogs and go about our day.

We lived 15 minutes from our ceremony site stayed at a hotel the night of our wedding. We splurged on a suite with a jacuzzi room, ordered room service and just enjoyed the best sleep over ever. It was great to sleep in, have someone else cook us breakfast, and feel refreshed. Honestly need another night like this lol.

We are getting ready in the hotel upstairs from the venue so we will just be staying there for the night.

Our reception is just immediate family at our home, so we are definitely going to a hotel. lol I mentioned this adorable BnB to my FH that I have been dying to stay at since I moved to our city, and he booked the King's Suite there for us. Smiley smile

We took a minimoon since we couldn't afford a full honeymoon and stayed at a fancy hotel in our area for 2 nights! It was perfect since we didn't have to worry about our messy apartment and people bothering us dropping off wedding decor and stuff lol
