Wedding night - where to sleep?

OctoberBride, on April 27, 2017 at 8:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

We were planning on just coming home to our apartment after our wedding reception bc he's getting ready at the apt with his guys and I'm getting ready at my moms house with my girls....so we aren't getting ready at a hotel or anything. then driving to someplace for a "mini moon" the next day.....

but everyone seems to think we are crazy and should spend our wedding night at a hotel to make it special.........is this true? is it going to be weird going home after our wedding reception? i honestly hadn't even thought of this lol!

I've been thinking about this too! We are planning on coming back to our house. I don't think hotels are that special and I don't want to worry about checking in late and getting settled, I'd honestly rather just come home and collapse into my own bed. Plus we have dogs, and although we could have someone watch them I always miss them when I go away.

If we were heading out the next day for a trip, I would personally want to spend the night before at home. I've heard you're exhausted on your wedding night anyhow!

We're staying at a hotel for our wedding night - mainly because we get the room free because our reception is being held there and we're having a room block.

If you'd feel more comfortable staying at home, there's nothing wrong with that. Do whatever you want.

We are officially undecided but will probably go home. We only live a few miles from the venue, and it seems silly to pay money for a hotel when our house is just a few minutes and maybe $15 in an Uber.

We were thinking somewhere with a hot tub suite. I imagine it would feel wonderful to soak in the tub after being on your feet all day.

We are staying in a hotel. We are getting married 45 minutes from where I grew up, which is out of state for us. But we are staying near the venue... not at my parents house, which would be our local option!

We're getting married two hours from our apartment and will be drunk and tired so we'll be at a hotel.

We're staying at a hotel simply so we don't have to worry about a long drive home in the dark after a long day and drinking. We also have family members who are staying at the same hotel despite being local to avoid drunk driving.

People told us the same thing, "Spend your wedding somewhere special!! Go all out an get a nice hotel".

Welp...we'd like to if we weren't too tired to care and at the end of the day will take any hotel just to rest our tired selves before traveling to NYC for our honeymoon,

We are most likely having our wedding at a hotel, and the night of is included in the package, so that makes it easy. We probably would anyway cause I LOVE hotels, but do what feels right for you guys, it's your day! Smiley smile

We're staying at a hotel the night of. If you booked a room block with the hotel, they may offer a free or discounted bridal suite depending on number of rooms booked.

We are getting married at a resort about 2 hours from where we live. We'll be spending the weekend there.

We are getting married about 20-30 minutes away from where we live, so we will get a hotel near the venue

No way! Who cares? I'd go home too if I had a place to go home to after the reception lol. My home will be across the country so definitely staying at a hotel. FH once said (without thinking) "Oh we can just go back to my family's house! We'd save money" until I reminded him that it's OUR WEDDING NIGHT- our first night as a married couple and he wanted to go home to his Mom and Dad's?! I don't think so. After that he came to haha.

We are going to stay in the hotel we have blocked rooms at as a treat for ourselves since we rarely go anywhere and won't be going on a honeymoon until later. Plus, we're considering hanging out at the hotel bistro after our wedding, so it's kind of perfect for us to crash at the hotel.
