Wedding night - where to sleep?

Not weird at all.

We're undecided on this. We'll be about 30-40 minutes from home. FH says we should just go home but for some reason I feel like it's really anticlimactic to just go home and trudge up the stairs to the apartment in my dress. Haha. Anyway technically there's no reason not to just go home... just do what you want to and don't worry about what everyone else thinks you should do!

We aren't going on an honeymoon till our one year anniversary, so we are going to a hotel that night. Plus we have five kids and need a little break!

The one and only reason we aren't coming home is because my dear friend gifted us a night at a fantastic hotel. If she hadn't, we'd just come home and sleep in our own bed. It's going to be a long day, I'm still kind of thinking about saving it for another weekend away.

Hotel because it's part of the package with our wedding venue.

We stayed in a hotel. We had our wedding where our parents lived (2 hours from where we live) and were staying with them before the wedding so we definitely needed a room

We're staying in a hotel only because FH & I will be living in Texas but we're having our wedding in our hometown of Michigan..

We're staying in a hotel only because it is included with out reception package. If that were not the case we would be going home. There is absolutely nothing weird about going home afterwards.

We will likely have some people staying at our house, at the very least FH's son so we will be staying at a hotel. Otherwise I would probably just go home and put the money towards something better.

I don't know why you have to be in a hotel to make the night special. I like my home. I like my bed. I like to pet my dogs when I wake up in the middle of the night.

This is my family and my home. I think ending my wedding day here is the perfect way.

ETA: I'm also having a day time wedding, so there's a larger gap between end of reception and end of day. That makes a difference.

We'll probably stay at a hotel simply because we have so many out of town guests and will be having a brunch there the next morning.

Go home with your hubby. Really. I'm also going home after the recepetion cause it is more special to us.

We are coming home after ours. Our venue is only 10 minutes from our place. If we really wanted to the casino is 2 miles from our house but I want to be able to sleep in and relax and not have to be out by a certain time.

Our venue is ~1hr from the house. I wanted to return home after the ceremony (I don't drink, so I could've driven)...but his mom convince him that we should stay at a hotel with EVERYTHING that could go wrong if we went home. So we are staying at a bed&breakfast.

We are getting married out of town so we will be staying in a hotel. If we were getting married locally I would just go home though. No point in wasting money on a hotel when you can use that money on the honeymoon in my opinion.

We will be staying at our beach house (also where reception is being held.) The next morning we will be leaving for honeymoon

Spend it where you want it- my first wedding we were so tired we went to bed right after getting to the hotel- wouldn't have made a difference if we'd gone home- didn't even have sex- just sleep! Lol

We are going to stay at the hotel where the guest block is for the night. They offered us a really good deal - if 50% of our hotel block is filled they would upgrade us a to suite with a "honeymoon" package for the cost of one night at the block rate ($100 off the nightly rate). If the entire block books they would give us the suite for free. It should be noted this is a Hilton, the block was for 10 rooms, so this was not a big block, and the block go rate was $79). The block filled after we sent the STDs so we had to add more rooms and we have a free suite. Not sure if you are doing a room block but I didn't even know we could get a room for free!
