Wedding - May 24 2020 - Invitations send or not send

Bperri1187, on March 25, 2020 at 3:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Literally last weekend, my invitations arrived Smiley sad. What do you all think I should do?

-Should I mail them out with a note caveating in the event our wedding date needs to be rescheduled, I will send an update

OR

- Should I take it day by day and hold off on sending them out?

Thank you all!!

Mine is May 30th and I also just got my invites. I am holding off until after April 1 and up to April 7, mostly because if we do have to reschedule at least I can salvage my envelopes and liners which were hand lettered and the details card! If you do send them out now I think you could get away with just sending an e-vite down the road if it is rescheduled, which might be easier than obsessively watching the news for updates (like I do!).

It's difficult to take it day by day but I think we have to for now. I'm not feeling good about it. Hang in there!!

Thank Saxby. Good point about repurposing the envelopes and RSVP cards. I am leaning towards making the call the first week of April on whether to postpone or not.

Day by day for sure. Crazy times, but I am confident it will all work out for us in the end.

Our wedding is also May 24th ❤️ Talk with your venue and ask what they would recommend. We talked with ours and although they had to reschedule all their weddings until May 15th they recommended we continue to plan for the 5/24/20 wedding so we sent ours out last week. We just got our first rsvps. Unless things progress we are still planning for it. Good luck!

I would wait a couple more weeks before sending them. It's standard to send invitations 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, so you're still within that time frame if you wait a couple more weeks. With everything changing so rapidly right now, you'll have a much better idea of what you can expect by then.
