Wedding makeup - shimmer or matte?

Went in saying I wanted matte. Left with literal glitter on my lids. Loved it!! It adds contrast. I'll show you the difference between natural matte and dramatic with sparkle. First 3 are my natural engagement photo makeup. The rest are my wedding make up trial.

These are from my trial, it’s matte. But I have debated adding sparkle.

I’m sorry you didn’t love your makeup trial. What was it about it you didn’t like?

I feel like this is based on your own personal preference and eye shape. I love a matte/smokey eye on myself personally as I have round eyes. I also like to add a little glitter to the lids to make them pop!

Having hooded eyes shouldn’t affect the type of shadow you choose, the application would be what’s most important to ensure it shows up.

With hooded eyes, if you want to minimize the upper brow bone, people tend to stick with matte shades. As shimmer reflect light and make things look bigger than they are, it would need to be kept on the part of the lid that actually moves, taking attention away from the hood.

I went with matte face makeup, but gold shimmer on my eyes!

I think i'm going to do smokey eye with matte look. I want to do shimmer but not sure yet. My hair/make up trial is coming up soon
