Wedding Invitation Typo..... FREAKING OUT!

SO..... I just received ALL 125 of our foil pressed invitations in the mail to find that I made a typo on the back of the invitation (we decided to provide reception/guest accommodation info on the back of our invite, rather then including a separate card to be a little more eco-friendly). SO..... I just received ALL 125 of our foil pressed invitations in the mail to find that I made a typo on the back of the invitation (we decided to provide reception/guest accommodation info on the back of our invite, rather then including a separate card to be a little more eco-friendly).

I had 7 people go over our proof for all parts of our invitations (including my fiance, MOH, MOB and MOG) prior to submitting it. However, upon re-reading the information on the BACK of our primary invitation card while prepping to send them out, I realized that under the "Guest Accommodations" heading there is a minor typo. It states,"Please use the following to link reserve your room.....(cont. guest info)," rather then, "Please use the following link to reserve your room".

My fiance said he didn't even notice it until I pointed it out, but I'm FREAKING OUT! Do you all think this worth paying $500 to re-print all of our invitations, because of this minor typo on the back?!?! Thanks so much!

I'm all about making sure the invitations are perfect, but to be honest, I didn't even notice it after reading it 3 times...until someone else mentioned "to". I other words, no worries!!

I had to re-read it like three times to even see the difference. Definitely not worth reprinting Smiley smile

I just thought of another point of why you should NOT reprint the invitations. Some people don't even read every word on your invitation. Some people would just read "Guest Accommodations" and go straight for the website link without reading the wording prior to it. I know I do that sometimes when I am busy. Again save your money!

I agree with everyone, I certainly would not spend $500 to redo my invitations. You are fine, but I can certainly understand your sentiments; I wouldn't be happy either.

    I would leave it alone.

Reason being... my brain caught the "then" instead of "than" error immediately, but had to read twice to see the "to" error.

Don't do it. I knew there was an error coming and still had to read really slow in anticipation to catch it. Our brains reads a few words faster than we are aware of so readers will correct it unconsciously.

If you must, some printers offer a discount on reprints. I know where I got mine would offer 75% excluding shipping but I wouldn't do it honestly.

It's an established fact that the human brain automatically corrects these tiny errors when reading. I've seen countless videos of people correctly reading a sentence or sign that has a missing word or two transposed words. People don't see these errors because our brains have a great auto correct function. Of course, once it's pointed out, you wonder how you missed it, but nobody is going to point it out to your guests. So, take a deep breath, exhale a sigh of relief, and get those invitations in the mail before you overthink this and waste a hell of a lot of money.

I had to read it multiple times to even catch what you were talking about. Don't freak out, most people won't notice and even if they do it's so minor. It doesn't take away from understand what you are saying so I think it's fine.

I didn't even know what was that wrong. I re-read it three times to notice.

I had to read it like 5 times before I saw the error, and I have the correct sentence right below the mess up. I wouldn't worry about it

Morgan, you really need to chill. how could this matter in the slightest? Will people miss your wedding cause of it? No. Will they be offended in any way because of it? No. Will you have less fun at the wedding? No. Will you be any less married at the end? No. So Let It Go.

Yup I didn't even catch it, I had to read several times, too. It will be fine.

Put this into perspective - do you really want to spend as much as some women spend on their dress, on the word "to"? You could use that money in so many better places than a word most people won't even realize is missing!

No I would not do it because if your FH could not see it then I would not worry about it

Mine had the wrong day on them. The date was right, but it said Saturday, not Friday. And my RSVP date had the wrong year. Glaring error, and I had to pay to re-print them.

I work in print and email marketing, too, so the fact that I missed such huge errors was a real chap in my ass.

This is not worth reprinting them.

I didn't notice it right away. Even after the fact, it still isn't worth that much $ in my opinion. There are so many things you AND your guests will enjoy more than perfect invitations such as great food, entertainment, and drinks, even decor would be a better investment than correcting such a small error.

I'm super detailed and type A and I had to re-read it 2-3 times to figure out where the typo was. Even though it stinks, I think you'll be okay. I don't know if it's worth $500 to re-arrange 2 words.
