Hi everyone! So like my title says, I have my wedding in ?TWO MONTHS?! I just got engaged about two weeks ago, and we want to get married ASAP. So I did my research already about the themes and I actually I have bought my wedding dress already. I just want to be able to plan accordingly within this next two months before my wedding. I have classes and he also has work. So how do I plan the next months? I also already have a spreadsheet of my timeline for the following months, however, I would like to know what I should prioritize for my wedding. What are the essentials?

    Oyyy. Okay.

Please wait until you're older and can afford to get married, wanting to move in together is a horrible reason to get married. Don't ask your families to pay or work for your wedding.

But if you insist on following through with this, have a cake and punch reception at like 2 in the afternoon, just provide apps like you can get at the grocery store and not prepare yourself (fruit tray, cheese tray, assortment of pinwheel, ect), some refreshments, and a cake and call it a day.

AD2AP, your brain chemistry changes dramatically between 21 and 24. It's silly to lock yourself into a marriage when you're going to change so much. But if you have the money and properly plan, I don't care. OP does not. People generally ask how old the OP is when the wedding seems poorly planned, that's all.

Age discrimination works both ways. How would older brides react to "That's way too old to be getting married." Or "You're too old to have a big ceremony."

FutureMrs, again, it has to do with biology and being immature. It's not age discrimination.

@Beth T. It is an LDS wedding ^.^ and It's not that I'm making people work, it's that they offer to work... For me, rejecting people's offers is kinda rude. But it's just me. It's totally fine with me to order at small catering!

ALC I'm not saying I disagree. I'm saying that's not what this thread is about nor did the OP ask for advice on whether she's too young to marry. My point was unless solicited, her age is none of your (or my) business. Several regular posters, including some of this very thread, are quick to point out to other brides things that are not their business (BP schedule or finances, what non wedding party people wear to their wedding, etc.) It goes both ways.

And hi guys, I just wanted to remind you all that I'm here to ask for advice on planning, not get scolded for my age! He's 23, I'm 21. We've been together for 6 years and we've been talking about this for the past 3 years. He got honorably excused from his church mission that was supposed to be for 2 years, so now we moved on to the next steps of our lives. We have prepared to take on the challenges of getting married young and the obstacles of finances and balancing education with it. Please, don't argue about my age in a thread that I'm merely just asking for advice of what to prioritize. Thank you for your concerns.

Be prepared to have wedding plans and wedding talk consume every free moment of the next two months. It will test your relationship for sure.

Getting married so you can move in together means you aren't mature enough to get married.

I'm sorry I won't be changing my mind and neither will he! Lol. I've enjoyed enough of my young years. I've done enough in my university years and quite frankly, I'm ready to take the next step. My gut seems to always make the right decision. If it seems like a bad idea to others, so be it. It's just I'm ready to take on this responsibility. Maybe it has to do with me being LDS, and he is too. Side note, we're not providing alcohol at my wedding. I've prayed about this sincerely and dearly. It's not something I just decided for the fun of it. I know it will be a lot of work and it's gonna suck from time to time, but it is a challenge I'm willing to take on. I never said getting married will be easy. And if immaturity is a problem, then we will learn. I have faith in us, and he does too. It won't be easy, but it is possible.

How about just going to a courthouse? You cannot afford a wedding for 100 people.

And we're not only getting married because we want to move in, I'm sorry it sounded like that, that was my bad.

@A.L I honestly don't think her age is any of your business. - She didn't ask for your opinion on her age and it has nothing to do with the situation she is talking about.

She doesn't care if you think she's too young, its her life... not yours.

    It's her marriage... not yours.

Maybe she doesn't want to wait until shes 30 to have children and maybe she wants to be married before having children? it's none of your business period.

AD2AP, yeah, that's fine. In her particular case, I think her age was obvious because she is planning poorly, though.

A.L. I dont think LDS can have courthouse recognized by their church? Not sure though.

OP I do think your choices have to do with being a LDS and as long as you are prepared for the challenges marriage poses that is what matters. People will keep trying to change your mind on the matter because for most, that age is young. My aunt and cousins are LDS and my cousin just had her wedding over mothers day weekend after a 2 month engagement and she is younger than you. If you are really set in your choices, I wish you all the luck.

@A.L. - I do agree with that. But I think we should be talking to her about her poor planning choices rather than her age.

@A.L.C. If I was planning poorly, I wouldn't have a spreadsheet to organize all my budgeting, and my timeline, and I wouldn't care to come to this forum for further advising. I dont think age matters either when it comes to planning. I know older people who planned poorer than I did. @sylphier thank you for the luck, I definitely will need it! Best wishes to your cousin also.

If your sister and BIL are behind the camera you won't be able to get a good family photo with them in it. Do you want them in photos OP?
