Wedding in less than two months...

Jo Mac, on May 21, 2019 at 11:06 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12
Help! My wedding is in less than two months and we are planning on having a huge reception in my backyard. Any suggestions on where to buy decorations in bulk for cheap? Any reliable websites?

That's one place that I am looking, but I'm also trying to find led lights in bulk. They get pretty expensive. Any other places besides Amazon? I was thinking about even going to the 99 cent store, but they dont carry the lights or other things I am looking for. They do have a good amount of what I need. Any cutesie food options? It will occur at night.

You may have some luck with Facebook marketplace- there are tons of weddings in my area and people are getting rid of their once used things locally all the time!

I second Renee and Cherish. I bought the bulk of my items on Amazon, you just really have to look very thoroughly. I got all of my jewelry, my ceremony shoes, garter, faux flame candles, wedding signs, wooden centerpiece slabs, picture frames for my memorial table, etc.

I also found a lot of things on FB marketplace, including some antique assorted blue glass items that I am using for my centerpieces. I found a whole bunch of wedding items that brides were selling after their event and you could find a crazy good deal.

I haven't used them, but I have heard of people using Oriental Trading and having a good experience. I have used Etsy as well, but they can be pricey. It all depends on the seller. I found some great deals there too and bought everything for my bridesmaids "thank you" gift baskets for my ladies. Also, maybe check Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Party City.

What type of décor are you looking for? What's the style of your wedding?

Thank you!!! Our reception theme is " A starry night" to represent how my fiance and I first met. We will have lights all over in the shape of a tent, sparklers, led lights for a walkway, white and silver everywhere for decorations.

If you're lucky enough to have a few dollar stores in the area -- VISIT THEM. I live in Alaska and we don't have any at all. Backyard celebrations can be beautiful. I suggest lots of string lights, the big kind that look like lightbulbs. I ordered a bunch for my venue from Amazon and they were $11 each on sale. Utilize the fact that it will be outdoors. Embrace the backyard theme and remember that nobody expects the Ritz. Put a table runner on a picnic bench. Put some simple flowers in a mason jar. Amazon is great for reliable, speedy delivery. You've got this. Don't panic.

I know it sounds crazy, but try oriental trading company! They now have an entire subsection of their site dedicated to wedding stuff! I am also doing a lot of DIY and we've gone everywhere from Joann's and Hobby Lobby to Amazon.
