Wedding in a nursing home

My fiancee's mother is in a nursing home. We plan to have the wedding in a gazebo there so she can be there. It is hard for her to travel, mainly because she doesn't want to.
The gazebo is very pretty in September, flowers and all. I am trying to decide about other decorations. He doesn't want a lot. Nor do we want to stay after to clean up. This is not the wedding I imagined, but I do want his mother there. I don't know what to do. I just want a nice wedding with family and close friends. Reception at the house afterwards.

I think that this is a beautiful gesture and will not only mean a lot to your FMIL, but also to your fiancé as well. Do you have any photos of the gazebo? If we could see photos of it we may be able to give you some specific decorating ideas.
One thing though that might work well is to have some fresh flower bouquets decorating the gazebo. They don't have to be super expensive as you could get them from a local grocery store's floral dept. or from a wholesale store like Costco or BJ's. You could find very inexpensive vases at a dollar store or a second hand store like The Salvation Army or Goodwill. Then you could donate them after the ceremony to the nursing home and they could distribute flowers to patients. I am looking into donating our flowers to a hospice, nursing home, or children's hospital. It could really make someone's day.

What do you think of adding some draping? Or lanterns with candles? The lantern with candles may be less hassle than the draping!
