Wedding Gown Anxiety!

Natalie, on May 3, 2012 at 11:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I ordered my gown a few months ago and the more I look at the pictures of it on the website, the more I am thinking I made the wrong choice. :/ I know there is nothing I can do now though. Is it normal to be second guessing at this point??

Stop looking at the pictures on the website because a gown NEVER looks the same on a model or by itself then it does when on you. Do you have pictures of you in the dress when you tried it on? Is so, look at those. If you really don't like it, talk to the place you purchased it from first to see if you can get any type of credit and go to a few more salons to try on different dresses. If nothing else, you can always try to sell the first one through recycledbride.com, etsy.com, craigslist or ebay and get some of your money back.

I went through the same thing. Now I have 2 dresses. I will sell one after my wedding. But in my opinion its normal. Good luck. Try it on again first just to see if you fall in love again.

Thanks ladies! My sister was in charge of taking pictures the day I tried it on and she only got 1 picture of it which was just a close up of the top half. She said she thought she took more but I guess not. Figures, I did try on alot of dresses that day and we have pictures of all the other ones but the one I ordered! I did speak to the bridal shop and they pretty much said that after you place the order, you can't make any changes or returns. Sooo I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed that I will fall in love with it again when it comes in, as you mentioned Nanya!

Can you go back into the salon to try the sample on again? I did that a couple times while I was waiting for my dress to come in, to show my BMs and MIL, and to shop for accessories. You could go back in and see how you feel in it, it will probably remind you how much you love it, and you can get a few pics Smiley smile

I'm in the same boat, I didn't like it on the hanger, I don't like the pictures of it, but I remember loving it on me. I haven't tried it on since November, it will be in in a few weeks. I am sure we will both still be happy with our decisions Smiley smile

I think a lot of people have these same concerns. I know I did. But when my dress came in and I tried it on again (and it actually fit), I fell more in love with it than I was when I tried it on the first time.

I did the same thing, I ordered it and then I went back the next day to try it on again just to "make sure" lol. I think its normal.

I was like that... Walk into the bridal shop and the only thing I knew for fact that I wanted was strapless.. Looked at all the ones in the catalog and tried on like 50 different ones before limiting it to 20. left, gave it some thought, one kept sticking out, went back in to try it on again and knew it was the one. and the picture had me try it on. Hope you still love yours.

I did the same thing. I even called the shop worried. It looked hideous to me online. It is perfectly normal. I kept the same dress and in the end am so glad I did. My husband says I looked amazing and perfect.

Your husband to be will think the same of you.

My gown was 100X better than the sample and website photo! You'll be amazed at what a fresh dress looks like!

Definitely normal. I've second guessed my choice a few times as well but I just have to remind myself that there was a reason I decided it was the one. I fell in love with it when I tried it on and I know I will love it even more once it's altered to fit me perfectly!! I would see if you could go back in and try on the sample again just to give yourself peace of mind until it comes in.
