So let me first start by saying that I am in NO way trying to insult ANYONE or imply anything against anyone that may have done this but... FH and I have a mutual friend that is getting married the weekend before us... they have like a 30 person wedding party, reception & ceremony is in her parents...

So let me first start by saying that I am in NO way trying to insult ANYONE or imply anything against anyone that may have done this but...

FH and I have a mutual friend that is getting married the weekend before us... they have like a 30 person wedding party, reception & ceremony is in her parents backyard, hole in the wall caterer, invited everyone and their brother pretty much etc... i've always said i was interested to see how all this turned out.. they've been engaged for longer than FH and I are have not saved ANYTHING. They buy stuff for themselves ALL the time (3D TV, "smoke", eat out) and spend ALL their time at the gym and buy tons of supplement things.. whatever.

So yesterday, we get a facebook event invite to a WEDDING FUNDRAISER for them.... umm. what??? It's a "Red Solo Cup" Event... it's in Port Huron which is a little over an hour from where we all live.. $10/cup and we'd have to get a hotel....... *continued*

All I'm saying is no one is owed a luxury item.

Weddings are luxury items.

I didn't mean you personally. I was speaking on the general population. This post was created by someone years ago who looked at this situation in a negative way, instead of expressing this to her "friend." You don't have to take what I say seriously, by all means none of us should take this stuff seriously. It's just people expressing themselves. You may not have had to struggle like most people in America, so God has blessed you. And I congratulate you for that. But some people just find different ways to do things. That doesn't necessarily make it wrong. I simply gave an example to compare to, not saying that these things are equivalent. But, like I said, everyone has their own views and that's totally fine. Regardless, we should all just have compassion for one another and try to be more understanding. It's doesn't get anyone anywhere to be judgemental or negative. My apologies, if you were offended by anything I wrote. That was not intentions Have a great day!

Fundraising at a "Stag and Doe" is pretty typical in parts of southern Canada, western PA, Ohio and NY. You basically have a big barbeque/carnival and have games, auctions, tip boards, and jello shots to sell.

I' not a fan, but it' become a regional tradition in our area
