I am having a small wedding. It was 15 guests but now it's around 36. I will not have more than 50. I started out planning a beach wedding but I've scratched that idea and we are going to Vegas. Intimate weddings website gave me some great ideas. Also, just googling small/intimate weddings led me to others doing the same thing.

What about a beach wedding followed by a nice dinner for your friends and family? You don't have to do all of the dancing and stuff if you don't want to but you definitely still can. I was also thinking of renting a beach house and just doing the ceremony on the beach with a BBQ style reception at the house after. There were too many little details involved in that than I wanted so that's why I am going to Vegas. lol

    Good luck!

We had a dozen guests at ours. It was basically immediate family on my side and a few close friends on NotFroofy's. We had the ceremony at a synagogue, then took everyone to the private dining room of a restaurant for lunch. Because of the small number of guests, we were able to serve high-end food and drink without breaking the bank. And even with no music, dancing, or other entertainment, people got so involved in catching up that we pretty much had to shovel them out of the place at the end.

Yep, we're going small. About 50 total. It's easier plus we have a lot of family that won't make the trip down to where we live now. It is certainly easier I think. Don't feel overwhelmed; WW has a great checklist that has kept me ahead of the curve!

We are having 40 people in total including myself, FH and our son. We chose our venue that would be perfect for a small group and not feel like a lot of wasted space. We chose a Historical Mansion and are getting married and reception in what they call the sun room. It will be so cozy and intimate.

We do this all the time. I'd say, find the venue first; in my area, a lot of couples opt for parks or castles and then go to a little restaurant for a lunch or early dinner. You also could choose a little restaurant with a private room or a B & B.

It's a great way to have a wedding! Good luck!

You have a lot more flexibility with a small group. Plan an outdoor wedding, it rains, no problem moving a small group. Don't need a "reception" -- just dinner at a nice restaurant in a private room.

Because witnesses are NOT required in Fla., I officiate many weddings as small as the B&G and me!

We're doing 15-20 people & what's really helpful is the site www.intimateweddings.com bc it shows real weddings & DIY stuff & pointers from past brides. Def check it out.

I agree with Celia, after u know your budget start looking for a venue & it will start to flow from there.

I'm having 250 guests and I really wish that now I was only having 25.

We guaranteed 65 guests, inviting 85.

What are you becoming overwhelmed with?

Finding a venue was the hardest part for me, a lot of places in my area had a guarantee of 150 guests or more. If you're looking for a reception venue, start with restaurants that have private party rooms.

We're doing a very small wedding - 20 people max, including us. There's no way we can afford anything bigger, plus neither of us want to have lots of people there.

We are doing a wedding of about 30. We are having "breakfast at the beach" just after the ceremony, and at night, we will have an early sit down dinner in a hotel restaurant that will make our portion of the room private. We will bring our cake there as well and do a little dancing in a club after that.

I wanted a small wedding (more like running away to elope) So we agreed to Tenn Smokey Mountains... They have awesome packages. But everyday it seems to get bigger and bigger but still in that range maybe a little more. I just figure if they want to go then so be it. Down side, everyone is staying on during our honey moon and turned it into a freak'n family vacation!

Hun I think you're over thinking the planning. When it comes to the reception, just remember you're planning a party!

Shelby honey do what you can afford and what you love. If you want something fancy but small do it, feeling more casual then go for it. Do not lose sight of what it is truly about!!!

You should just do whatever you really want. If ur budget allows for all the bells & whistles go ahead & plan it that way. If you want it low key then go low key. The number of guests may limit the venues you can choose from but it doesn't dictate the rest.

You can absolutely do the linens, invites, photographer, video, alcohol, DJ, BP, rehearsal etc for 20 people if that's what you want. Or you can do a romantic outdoor event. I know it's hard when all you've seen are big weddings & you don't know where to start bc yours is different but it's really the same thing as planning a different theme. If u want pm me
