Our venue Waterloo Village works with a catering company (JAM Catering) so we will be using them. We plan to offer a chicken, fish, beef, and vegetarian option to guests. The company has a lot of extras you can add in as well such as cocktail and dessert stations or passed appetizers, they even have an option for a late night pizza after party or a s’mores fire pit! I thought that was pretty cool. My best advice is to pick things that you like and that represent you and your significant other. I mean you of all people should enjoy the food at your wedding!Wedding food 1

80 pp without the extras we added with all the extra the deluxe bar, carving station, and pasta station 100 pp which in my opinion is still not outrageous. I’m in Maryland btw

Ok that sounds really nice. $80 pp I wish!!! I’m in Florida and we are paying something like $130 pp and we have about 160-170 guest. And this is just food and bar. And plain table clothes and utensils . No decor. I’m praying we move pass this quickly so these May and future couples are able to have their weddings. I feel horrible for all these February through April couples.

I love that you are focused on what experience your guest will have. I mean a bride and all her concerns were what she liked and what she wanted. Weddings are an experience shared with family and friends! Keep being positive !

I’m having an early afternoon wedding and just having a low-key reception and asking family members to provide appetizer/finger-foods. We’re on a tight budget and also I actually just kinda miss the simpler wedding/receptions I grew up going to.

Yes we are both foodies! I’m Jamaican and my family are foodies. We love to eat. We couldn’t find a Jamaican caterer in the Dallas area. The food was gross. Fortunately our caterer can infuse dishes so we went with their top choices and found some ways to spice it up for guests who want that island style. We’re having passed hors d’oeuvres, an extensive buffet, dessert bar, “midnight” snack and open bar. Can’t wait to eat that day lol 😂

Very nice ! I too am Jamaican and my fiancé is American. We didn’t find a really good venue that served island good in the area we wanted. But the venue has such an amazing menu and they say by time for our wedding they may have island delicacy for our guest to enjoy. In addition we wanted a venue with their OWN KITCHEN NO OUTSIDE FOOD vendors.

That was a biggie for us too. I was surprised by the amount of venues that had “catering services” But required me to order hot boxes and salad refrigerators. My Fiancé, planner and I didn’t even bother with a quote as we knew what it meant. To me that is absolutely disgusting and a health hazard. I want all meals prepared on site! That’s as bridezilla as I get lol.

Our venue provides the food so we're having a sit-down dinner. Prior to an open house at our venue, ALL of our vendors said our venue has "the best food". After the open house, we agree 100%!

We are blessed to know people who work and own businesses in the wedding/entertainment industry so we’re getting discounted on a lot of things. Food was most important and venue because we love to eat and we wanted a nice place to celebrate and luckily our venue has both.
