Wedding Favors?

My Mom thinks I should do personalized guitar picks (since both FH and I play guitar). I like the idea behind it but it isn't very useful to 95% of our guest list lol.

Part of me has the mindset that most favors end up getting dumped or lay around people's houses as clutter, anyway, unless they're food. But I also want to thank guests in every way I can for coming, especially since my wedding is out of town. It's really a personal preference.

We gave out blankets as favors and they were a hit, but as a guest, I really don't care about them.

I'm having an outdoor ceremony so I was thinking about having swag sunglasses with our names and wedding date printed on the side. Another consideration is to print our program on a fan because it's a summer wedding. I've also thought about popcorn bags or candy. So to answer your question, I'd like to do wedding favors but I want to do something practical and that serves a purpose for the evening.

We are not doing favors. Personally I think it’s a waste of money. If you do decide to, edible items are the way to go. I don’t need a personalized item with someone’s name and date, but I’ll eat a snack lol. As a guest, I don’t care either way. We recently went to a wedding that didn’t have any, and it didn’t even occur to me until after the fact - and I only noticed afterward bc we are wedding planning ourselves.

Personally I don’t want anything with the name of the bride & groom or reference to your wedding, I’m thinking a few things. Cake pops or a special cookie. And I’m doing little pots of succulents as escort cards so to speak.

I adore favors! Doing edibles (specialty candy) with little ‘thank you for sharing our special day’ tags. I also made favors for friends and family for wedding, baby shower, birthday and engagements parties.

We're having 3 favors! We're doing homemade strawberry jam inside small mason jars, personalized golf tees, and photo strips from our photo booth!

We did personalized beer koozies.

I work for a coffee company so I thought I'd take advantage. Each baggy will be filled with whole bean coffee. I will have a light, medium, and dark roast option. Bags from amazon and tags from etsy.

Personally I don't mind the guitar pick favor. When one of my girlfriends got married this is what she gave away as a favor. I thought it was so cute. I still have them. I have a couple and one I have in a keepsake box and the other floats around with my jewelry and I love being reminded of the happy day. It's small and unobtrusive.
