I already bought, altered and paid off my wedding dress which I do love! But I will admit I chose to dial back my love and wanting for a black non traditional wedding dress for my fiancé and everyone else. My dress I have is white on top and grey on bottom but I have always loved the idea of getting married in a black dress not completely sure why just have and have found the most amazing black dress ever. But I’m having a hard time reminding myself that I already have a dress and that it’s beautiful I just really love this other dress just as much if not more. Im just not sure what to do.

I even thought of doing a second reception dress in black to help but that didn’t work and my fiancé just asked if it was really needed. Help please!!!

Follow your heart and get the dress! Even if you only wear it to the reception. If you don’t, you are always going to look back at pictures and wish you had made yourself happy instead of everyone else.

If it's in your budget, I think you should have it for reception at least! Or switch them, so you have the reception in your white one, if you really wanted to get married in black. A wedding day isn't something that you want to have big regrets about, and I think based on your message you seem to have your heart set.

I think it’s pretty clear that your heart is set on the black. I’m sorry you felt pressured into this decision. As the PPs mentioned, your wedding day is something you really don’t want to have any regrets about. Focus on your own happiness

Not at the moment I did but I also was able to find a cheap Black reception dress so I’m hoping that will lesson the want for a black wedding dress.
