Wedding dress lost in the mail!!!!!!!!!!

B'sWife, on January 9, 2014 at 2:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

As of about 45 minutes ago my wedding dress is lost in the mail. We have a lot of issues with our mail man. My dislike of him just grew. And the USPS in general.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry! How do you know it's lost for sure? Can you call the vendor that sold you the dress? Maybe the can advise on what the next step is for a situation like this...

Um. Heads would roll. I'm really hoping this is a temporary misunderstanding.

So in our neighborhood we have a community mailbox area instead of getting mail to each house individually. We've had issues where if it's a package that cannot fit in the regular mail box instead of dropping it by the house like they're supposed to he fills out one of those slips saying he tried to deliver it and now we have to go pick it up. This always happens when we're home so we know he's a damn liar and just lazy.

Well, yesterday according to tracking on the USPS the dress went out for delivery at 9:39 a.m. FH was home ALL DAY, no delivery. At 5:30 on my way home I checked the mail. No slip. I was pissed because it was "out for delivery." On his way home from work at 3:00 in the morning my FH stopped at the mailbox again. There was new mail, so mail had been delivered after 5:30. But no slip. I tracked it again this morning and the website says "attempted delivery" at 6:38 p.m. last night. Um, NO! I was home ALL NIGHT. Most of it within 10 feet of my front door. Had he (con't)

Knocked I would have heard it. So I went to the post office in person and they're at a loss. The supervisor not only has no package for me, she's not sure who the driver was. I'm waiting for her to call me. She has an hour or I'm going back down there. If she still has no answers I'll be posted up in a camping chair awaiting the mail man's arrival at the mail boxes tonight. With a baseball bat :-)

@D - it's not very big. I'm sure she folded it, put it in a bag, squeezed the air out of it and shoved it in a box. I bought it brand new from a private seller on Ebay.

Seriously @Future Amy Everhart, I'm praying that they find your dress...not only for your sake but for the health and well being of the lazy postman hahaha - I would totally be the same way though - and probably never allowed back into a USPS again!

I'm trying so hard to not freak the F out! I'm hoping it's a misunderstanding but the lazy mf'r does this ALL THE TIME! This is just the worst of the times bc they don't seem to have my dress at the post office. Or currently any answers. What's interesting is that FH was just down at that very same post office yesterday bitching about the same thing. Apparently he was the second person yesterday from our neighborhood to do so! I'm so pissed I can't see straight.

@Erin, yes, we live in Denver, there's a million, but the one 8 blocks from our house is "our" home post office where all of our stuff is processed. Or, not processed properly as it were.

@Marisa-in-Love - I really want to. Especially after the temp supervisor came strolling out of the back to tell me she doesn't have it and she'll have to "look in to it." And her attitude was so blasé, because at the end of the day, they can fuck up and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I wish that Ebay seller had just used UPS. Yeesh!
