Wedding Dress Delay due to Coronavirus

Jillian, on April 2, 2020 at 9:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hi everyone. So I ordered my YSA Makino gown at the end of February, my wedding isn’t until January 2021. I am thinking (hopefully) this should be phased out by then, but is anyone worried about their dresses not getting in on time for their future weddings? Since all shops are closed down?

I feel so terrible for the closer weddings! I just can’t help but get stressed out for mine even if it’s a little far out Smiley sad

I think that shops in China where a lot of dresses are started, are starting to slowly re-open. Things from there are starting to pick back up and so is there manufacturing.

Where is your gown being made? I ordered mine for my January wedding last October. I was told it should be in by August. Even if it’s delayed 2-3 months I’ll still be in the clear. That’s what I’m so glad I did everything early. I think you ordered yours far enough in advance to have a good safety net.

My ceremony gown is being made in Italy 😩. I’m praying they have a speedy rebound and my gown was already in production before the crisis.

I think it’s manufactured in NY. When I originally ordered it they said I should expect it in December. So I’m nervous it’s going to get so pushed back and delayed that I won’t have a dress. That’s great you got it so early, at least something less to worry about!

You should be okay. If they’re making it here in the city it’ll probably still be in production even though the boutique is formally closed. This is something they can easily do with few employees. Keeping my fingers crossed for you !!!

    Hi Jillian,

I'm sorry you're dealing with the possibility of a dress delay. I know the uncertainty is super stressful! You are definitely not alone.

If you become increasingly anxious over the next few weeks/months, then maybe finding a back-up dress option (or three) would ease your mind. WeddingWire recently published an article about How to Get the Wedding Dress Shopping Experience From Home During COVID-19 . Online/virtual shopping is a great way to explore options right now.

My fingers are crossed for you! Smiley heart
