Wedding dress cleavage

Lauren, on April 27, 2018 at 4:42 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 39

I'm getting married in two weeks and I'm worried over the amount of cleavage I have in my dress after trying it on altered. Had I known better, I probably would've stayed clear of the sweetheart neckline, but its too late now to change my dress. I didn't tell the seamstress at the time I was worried about the neckline, because it wasn't until I saw the photos that I realized how much was showing. Should I call them and ask for what they can do? Is it too late to to have her add a topper? I'm not even sure that would look good.

I bought this cover up, but it has to get altered and also not sure how I can dance without it riding up my shoulders:

I think you look beautiful! It may be a bit revealing for some people's standards but my fh & i both agree that you look great 😀 as long as you're comfortable (which I think is the only thing that matters) enjoy your day and rock that beautiful dress!

I think you look beautiful but if you’re really uncomfortable with it, I would call and ask... there’s still time. I had the same situation when I had my first fitting. I loved everything! & then when my friend sent me pics....& I was like holy boobs!!! It was just the first thing I noticed even though no one else said anything. I asked for them to cover them up a bit and they did a great job. I know yours is a little different but I’m sure they could think of something if it’s bothering you.

I think you look great in the dress and the cleavage is not too revealing. But you need to feel comfortable ... so I would ask your seamstress to add about 2 cm of tulle from the inside.

You look beautiful in your dress! I’m part of the the itty bitty committee, so I’m always jealous of nice cleavage. Lol! But if you’re not comfortable with the amount of boobage, I would think there’s still time to add a little something to your dress.

Honestly, I think it looks gorgeous. Maybe try to get some fashion tape to tuck them in?

I think a topper would look cheap. I don’t think you’re showing that much cleavage and I’m kind of modest. Personally, I think the dress looks beautiful on you and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I think it looks fantastic! If you’re comfortable with it the way it is and only want to alter it because of how other people would think, don’t be worried about that one bit! Everyone is going to see you as a gorgeous bride! If you’re uncomfortable with how you feel showing anything, you could see if the alterations person could make a bolero/crop top type thing from tulle or lace.

I’m right there with you though when it comes to worrying about cleavage. My dress is currently collapsing from the weight of mine. 😂

You look stunning in that dress!! My first impression was omg that dress is so pretty and fits her like a glove, not omg boobs so I think you're ok but most importantly is that you will be comfortable.

To me it looks like the cups are too small or the dress isn't up high enough. I would definitely talk to your seamstress. You shouldn't have to add a top piece if the bust fit properly. It's a beautiful dress!

You look absolutely beautiful. I don't think it is too revealing at all. It fits you like a glove. If I hadn't of read what you were asking I literally would have not even thought about questioning the top of the dress.

If you hadn't said anything, I honestly wouldn't have noticed. The dress is beautiful! That being said, it's not too late to see what the seamstress can do!

I agree with a PP about the bust fit - can your seamstress alter it to bring it up some? I'm also a busty bride, and I was uncomfortable with my cleavage. I had my seamstress add a lace modesty panel out of the extra fabric after she took it in. As PP have said, adding some kind of panel might help. It depends on your comfort level. I would not have been comfortable without a modest panel due to the fit of my dress.

I think you look gorgeous and perfect for a wedding. However, I understand your apprehension, especially if you are having a religious ceremony. If you are, talk with the seamstress to see what can be done - maybe a removable topper as pictured. If the ceremony isn't religious, nothing is needed!

I think you look amazing but if you are not comfortable it may take away from relaxing during your special day. Talk your alterations person and see what they can do
