Wedding dress- beads fall off easily

Tasha, on September 23, 2019 at 9:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Just got my wedding dress and it is very beaded on the bodice and I noticed some of the beads on the bodice have already fallen off and I only wore it once to try on at the bridal shop.
Right now it’s def not obvious but there are some other beads seem to have very loose threads and could easily fall off when I try on the dress. The beading is sew on to just a layer of tulle fabric then there is a lining of satin. Should the beading be sewn into the lining as well? I feel like the tulle is so delicate and that’s one reason why the beads are loosening up. I do have a picture of the dress in another discussion.

is there a way for a seamstress to help make it so beads won’t come off so easily? Very worried that all the beads will fall off at the wedding day.

    Hi there, Tania Smiley smile

I would definitely recommend you discuss this with your seamstress and see what can be done to avoid the beading falling off. In the meantime, avoid trying on the dress again to avoid losing more beading.

Did you speak to the bridal store here you got the dress about the issue? Or was this something you noticed once you took the dress home?

I didn’t notice it until I got home and it was in closet. Just opened the garment bag and noticed the loose beads and threads. It’s just frustrating since it’s an expensive dress!

That is super frustrating! Do you think it would be worth reaching out to the bridal store about the issue, see if this is common with the style of dress and what they would advise?
