Wedding Day

Marian, on July 28, 2019 at 2:07 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3
My ceremony is at 3pm. I have a friend doing my hair and makeup. My soon to be stepdaughter does hair and makeup as well and I figured she can help my sister and her sister and my other bridesmaids get ready. How much should I pay my friend and what time should we all start to get ready??

As far as payment goes, I have no idea. I’m DIYing my HMU, so I wouldn’t even know where to start.

My ceremony starts at 1pm, and we are starting around 8:30/9. (Since we are soon diying HMU, it should go faster because we can all work on ourselves at the same time). I would say that you should start NO LATER THAN 10/11/ depending on your timeline. If you want to do a first look and formals before the ceremony, then you need to add at least an hour or two depending on your overall timeline and your day of plans!

Thank you. I think we are skipping the first look photos.. my fiance and I just very simple laid back. There are some traditions we are not going with and some or very few we are doing. I want to opt out of the whole garter toss and bouquet toss BUT he wants to keep those. Well I think I could start getting ready at 7:30 or 8 am while my fiance and the others set up at the venue since we are doing our own decorations. And I think having my soon to be daughter she will help with hair and make up as well so it might go faster. Thank you again 😁

    Hi there Marian!

Is your friend a professional Hair and makeup artist? Could you speak with her and discuss payment? I'm sure if she has done bridal hair and makeup before she will be able to advise what she typically charges.

Likewise, you would need to speak with her to figure out a timeline for getting ready. She would be in the best position to advise how long it will all take. You can then work backward and figure out the best time to start the process Smiley smile
