Wedding Cost

Sierra, on October 13, 2019 at 10:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
I’m planning a wedding at a venue with about 125 people in Connecticut . How much do I have to look forward to spending between Dj, photography, decorations , flowers, etc. I already have the venue price, but aside from that I would love to know how much is a good amount to save. Planning wedding for April 2021. Please give input. This is my first wedding

This is a very broad question!!! You can spend $1000 for everything or $20,000... Depends on your taste, finances, desire to spend!
Im in Bergen county NJ and our vow renewal will be on a lighter side since I am not bothering with a lot of little things. Our friend is a DJ and is doing the event for free. Our photographer is insanely amazing but she's only been in the bizz for 2 years and just started doing weddings so she's $1400 (it might be less we are working it out). I am contemplating videographer found someone whose work I love and it's $1100. But this is a lot of luck and research, vast majority of places you will call will give you quotes along the lines - dj $1000 and up, photographer $2500+, videographer $2500+. Florists I am not bothering with, no transportation or bridal party so no input on that.
Id decide what you want to have, decide on budget then prioritize what you want to spend more on and go from there. You can have a nice celebration without bells and whistles for under $10k or you can spend $80k and still wish you spend more. Also what's nice for someone might not be good enough for another person. Too many variables
    Good luck!

Do you have a range of what you can/want to spend for the wedding? Like do you want to keep it around $10k? $30k?

A wedding is possible with a spectrum of budgets. Smiley smile

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Sierra Smiley smile

If you want to find out the average cost for different wedding vendors in your area or where you’re planning the wedding, I would recommend you check out the WeddingWire cost guide. The tool also provides a ton of helpful tips including what’s typically included and what could affect your bottom line with different vendors.

For example, according to the tool, in Hartford CT, most couples spend between $1,000 - $1,700 on a wedding DJ. The average DJ cost is $1,300.

This should help you figure out how much to save for your wedding Smiley smile

Are you based in CT or will this be a destination wedding for you?

That's kind of like asking what it costs to feed people at a restaurant. The cost is going to depend on whether the restaurant is McDonald's or the Ritz. A caterer will likely cost about the same as a restaurant for comparable food, so you have to decide what food is within your budget.
