I honestly can't remember what the chairs looked like at any wedding I've ever been to. I wouldn't sweat it, I'm sure when it's all decorated and put together no one will care.

I also agree with a lot of you. I think covers look kinda weird on folding chairs so it's either leave them or spend $$ and rent new ones

I don't like those chairs at all. I would rent different ones.

I don't know..... Im usually in the camp to say "It doesnt really matter", but I really don't like those and I think would notice those. Im surprised the venue doesnt have at least all white ones. How many guests do you have and would it be a big expense to rent different ones?

ETA: If the rest of your decor is really "nice" those chairs will definitely stand out. Especially in person. They look like plastic food court chairs. I feel like that would be the first thing I noticed when I walked into the reception hall.

I'm usually in the "no one will remember what they sit on" camp, but it's odd that those are the ones the venue provides as they really don't match the space. Would it be in your budget to rent other chairs? I wouldn't stress if it's going to put a big dent in your budget, but it might be nice to have different ones if it's at all financially feasible.

When I think of folding chairs at a wedding, these are what I think of.

Depending on where you are they could be anywhere from $3 to $6 to rent. I think something like this would look worlds better. How formal is your wedding?

I have only ever noticed chairs if they have chair covers on them - and that's not in a good way.

Would rented chairs look better? Definitely.

Is it worth the money? It wouldn't be to me.

I would care less about how they look compared to how they feel comfort wise. Most people don't notice chairs at weddings because they're the typical banquet style chair. Those may be more noticeable if they more uncomfortable.

I would only rent chairs if at the end of your budget you have money to spare. Or if they're devastatingly uncomfortable.

    I wouldn't waste the money.

I was worried about this in our wedding, and once butts start filling chairs (and pictures are taken), you can't even see the darn things and nobody cares.

How fancy is your wedding? If it is somewhat formal or fancy, those plastic chairs will look weird. It wont matter in the grand scheme of things, but they don't look that great. They don't look very comfortable either.

Honestly I wouldn't pay to rent others. We have all black metal folding chairs... So what? Why pay more for different? We're going to dress them up with a sheer chair bow or whatever that were borrowing from friends. Waste. Of. Money.

It's so funny because the weddings I have attended where they had chiavari chairs were the most uncomfortable, even with padding. I think it's something about the directly upright back.

No one notices the chairs they sat in. Unless you have a cash bar and the chairs are decked out in fancy covers and bows (I speak from experience on that last one....)

My venue had folding chairs as well and I was going to use those. But then we decided to upgrade and get silver chiavari chairs since we were spending a bunch of money on decor and it looked so much better!! If you have it in your budget, I say go for it!

Chiavari chairs are probably the most expensive to rent and not necessarily that comfortable. You could probably find a happy medium between those and what you have it you decide to rent.

I'm hoping that with our open bar and delicious food people will be too full and too drunk to notice :p
