Wedding catering (I know I'm going to get negative comments but that's okay)

My FH loves chik-fil-a! He has been telling me that he really wants it st our wedding. I've always wanted the picture perfect wedding with an amazing sit down dinner. However, I value his opinion and it is way cheaper. I love their food too but I'm not sure it's what I want in a wedding. But I am...

But I am seriously considering it because I want him to be happy and the money could be spend elsewhere. Has anyone used a chain restaurant to cater? How did your guests like it?

You can do chick-Fil-a as a cocktail appetizer.

@A. L. I almost forgot about that. I stopped eating Chick-Fil-A for years when that broke (I'm ashamed to admit I started again after Obergefell).

You're right. Based on our FI and I's personal beliefs, I would not have served that served at my wedding because I can't have a wedding catered by a company who didn't want other people to be allowed to get married.

We had a wedding a couple years ago and they did just that. They brought in two trays of nuggets with all the sauces for a late night snack.

I don't think you should incorporate Chic-Fil-A into your wedding menu, but I think it's a great idea to have it catered for FH and his groomsmen while they get ready!

Do it for the rehearsal dinner or a late-night snack. Problem solved.

Although, as everyone has said, dietary restrictions and allergies will pose a problem here.

Also, some people might not want to eat CFA at all due to their homophobic agenda.

I agree to have it as a snack towards the end of your reception. One thing I want to point out, the food should be one of the things you put a good portion of your budget towards. Your guests comfort and enjoyment should come before the decorations, printed items (such as programs or napkins) and even your dress. If I went to a wedding and the bride is wearing an expensive dress and only serves me soggy chicken nuggets, you better believe I am going to be unhappy. You can find reasonable catering if you do some research. There are many BBQ or Italian restaurants who offer catering for a reasonable cost per person.

I think it would be a little more appropriate if you are having a more casual wedding and doing it at lunch / early afternoon. If I'm being completely honest - at a couple weddings I've attended I would have preferred chick fil a over the meal that was served. I guess at the end of the day, do you.

Listen I eat the shit out of some CFA, but I fully agree that it should not be your full wedding meal. They obviously cannot accommodate any diet restrictions, plus in my experience when it's catered it's just not quite as good as when you get it straight from the restaurant.

I think this would be great for the rehearsal dinner, or like others have said as a late night snack if you can afford both catering and a snack.

So... I may be the only person who disagrees, but that is fine! We all have opinions, right? I think your wedding should symbolize you and your future husband. If y'all love Chik-Fil-A, why not?! If your wedding is very formal, I can see how it may not "match" the rest of your wedding. But if it is a more casual wedding with buffet style catering anyways, then I would totally do it. If your fiance is anything like mine, I would absolutely do it. My fiance doesn't have an opinion on much in a wedding because he truly doesn't mind, but the things he has requested, I have made happen. We are doing BBQ and beer (& wine) for the rehearsal because that is what HE wanted.

People are going to eat and drink what you provide! Smiley smile

P.S. I am a vegetarian. You can get veggie wraps and fruit catered as well.

My family won't eat it either. No piece of chicken is worth supporting a business that discriminates. Nor will they buy from Under Armor, Hobby Lobby, or any given store that still carries anything made by Trump.

Yes, you could make the argument that you can't feed vegetarians with Chick Fil A, but you could also make the argument that they treat vast swaths of the population like shit.

We had a chick fil a nugget tray as our getting ready snack. I wouldn't recommend serving it as your main wedding entree.

Based on your most recent comment, I am confused about why you even bothered asking.

It's your wedding, not a 7 year olds birthday party.

    "It's my day."

    Oh good god.

Sorry, if I was at a wedding and they served any fast food (but in particular CFA), I would leave and take my gift with me.

So if you already knew you were doing this, why ask? So you can come back and call us all rude?

Did I say rude? No I didn't. And @ALC What's with everyone and the gifts? I'm not asking my guests to bring gifts. I don't care about gifts and like I said my guests are completely fine with this.

They say they are fine with it to your face, but behind your back, I'm sure they are talking about you and your CFA catered wedding.
